Woo, hoo! I made them! 4 Attachment(s) Thanks everyone for putting up with me asking so many questions about making dresses. I went and got the pattern I found online re-sized at my local stationary store and made a couple dresses. One was a little short, one was a litte tight and long. lol. But they look okay, I'm proud I just went and did it. I'm sure I'll get better. I'm having so much fun sewing them. I can never wait to get home and start. I can't wait to go to the city either and grab lots more fabric to make even more! :) Here's some pics, I'm warning everyone they're not the greatest dresses, but I'm trying. I'm throwing in some recent pics of Tila as well. You'll have to excuse her, she's looking a bit scruffy, but she's going to the groomer on Thursday to get all neat. The date is probably wrong on the pics too, I never did fix it. Thanks everyone! |
They're so cute! You did a great job! |
Great job..esp love the pink one;) |
Aww! She looks so cute. The dresses are beautiful too. Scruffy is the order of the day here most of the time although they're brushed daily. lol Hugs Shirl :bee: |
Nice Job!!! You would never know it was your first time. I can't wait until I get a girl pup. I'll have to get a second job, just to pay for all the girly stuff!!! Keep up the great work.:D |
They are sooo cute! Are they hard to make? I'm an average seamstress. And where did you find the pattern you cut down? |
Just precious. You might want to check out this old thread on YT to see if any of the links are still current: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-patterns.html |
Congratulations on a job well done! Your dresses are very cute and with a little more tweeking to your pattern they will be PERFECT! |
great job! |

They're so cute! Nice job, it makes you feel good to be able and look at them and say "I did that" doesn't it. lol! :) What a doll of a little model you have too! Can't wait to see what else you decide on making. :) |
Good job. They are really cute.:) |
I think you did a great job. :) |
wow! Wow, they are wonderful! Some of my first creations were with that pattern...Before you know it you will have hundreds of dresses LOL....more designed by you and even more frilly and girlie! A YT mentor was the best thing for me. (someone who shared tips) Sewing is really alot of fun...i love it. You will too! :) |
You did a great job. Its alot of fun doing creations for the little furballs. |
Cute clothes! Your clothes are cute! I have always been a sewer, I have twin daughters age 19 and always made most of thier clothes and many many outfits for my son when he was younger. Also my own as well. I went last week to the fabric store when they were having a sale on patterns for 99 cents each and bought like five of them with the most cute adorable clothes for small dogs. While I have purchased so many things for my little Dixie and my daughters yorkie who is two weeks younger Teddy, I am in the process of making lots of cute things for them. I am having such a good time. My husband tells me I should start a business, call it "Dixie's Dud's" and make and sell adorable yorkie clothes. I might just consider it. My kids are grown now and I am home during the day with Dixie and Teddy and my two seven yr. old Bichons. I used to do ceramics for problely 20 yrs and sell my things at shows. I made ceramic animal dolls and made all the clothes for them which were so fun to make and they sold so amazingly well. I will let you know about what I make. But if you can sew and you certainly can you can make the most adorable things and make them as fancy as you want for alot less than some places I have seen. Just the other day in the mail I recieved a catalog for yorkies and while everything was so cute, the prices were astronomical and I could have made five or six outfits with what they were asking for one and not even to mention the shipping. So if you have the time and can sew you are at a great advantage! Good Luck!:) |
Thanks everyone, you're all so nice! Yep I'm just starting with the simple one I found online, but I have some patterns here that I'll get around to as soon as I tweak and get better at doing it. I can sew, I've always liked doing it, I usually make patchwork bags and stuff. I just couldn't get the knack for these dresses, it was the pattern sizing that gave me the most trouble. I'm going to the city on Friday so I'm going to check at the huge fabric store for lots of goodies. |

Those were cute - I liked the ladybug outfit. Keep on sewing and you'll have one large doggie wardrobe. LOL. :D |
