The YorkieTalk Meetup Team has been working with the Alexandria Visitor Association and talking with a few hotels in the downtown Alexandria area. Stay tuned for more details!

The YorkieTalk 2009 Meetup is open to all YorkieTalk members, their spouses and family, and their Yorkies (and their small dog siblings). We will post more information as it comes along. We can definitely use help YorkieTalk members that live in the Alexandria, VA area, and we will be asking for your help once we finalize a few things. If you live in the area and have any feedback or tips for us, please PM us.

I live in MD and work in Northern VA so Zoe and I will be there. Looking forward to meeting everyone and thanks in advance to the committee!!!! Alex is a great dog friendly town-- they also do doggie cruises!!!!

Wow Alexandria huh? I live like an hour or so away. We could just drive there. We will probably go as long as my husband drives. I do not like the traffic in the DC area.

A cruise would really be a LOT of fun!
According to the website, the canine cruises are on THURSDAYS. So if the meetup is on a Saturday, we'd have to go a few days early.... unless it is decided to do a YT members only charter, which would be really neat, but would add $$ to our meetup budgets.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that we love Alexandria, VA. I just spent the day there for my birthday and had so much fun. I posted a little video of my day for anyone that is interested.

I'm not from this area (from the Pittsburgh, PA area) but we now live in Maryland. It was really nice to drive to Alexandria and check things out for next year's meetup. It is so pretty there and everyone was super friendly.

I can't wait to go again and meet everyone.

I think the cruise would be so cute to go on. We wanted to do this when we were there but we missed it. There were tons of people and furry babies everywhere. They can only take a certain amount of people at one time. Since there will be a big group of us, maybe they could do a special YT cruise during the weekend.

I live in Myrtle Beach,SC and I am looking foreward to going to the 2009 Event and can't wait to bring all 3 of mine with me! I'm excited to see and meet all the other Yokie's and other YT. Members! Not too far of a drive this time? I'm waiting to hear all the Travel detail's and announcements. I'm sure you all will keep us all posted?

Unless you don't mind horrible traffic (remember it's right there at DC) I'd advise not driving. We know people who live there and work in DC and it takes them 2 hours to get just a few miles. It's as bad as LA. The doggie cruise sounds like it would be a great thing to do!
