I always had one dog at a time until I got Cali almost 3 years ago as an 9 week old puppy. At the time my pom was 8. Then a year later I added Pixie who was 13 months when I got her but not potty trained and then almost another year later I added Dixie who sadly passed away after 5 weeks and then I got Roxie 5 months ago who is 9 months now. So I have been potty training quite a bit. But I love it, they play with each other and entertain me with their antics. |
5 yorkies We were a family of 3 Yorkies, had a litter of 7 and keeping 2 of them. My main concern is jealousy. How can i make sure none of my older 3 get jealous of the new babies? |
Spend lots of one on one time with the older ones. I know this is hard to do when you have sweet playful babies, but he older ones need attention also. Always feed the older ones first, make them first in everything, first to be greeted and pet when you go out and return home. First to be fussed over when you wake in the morning. I had a pack of 3 girls, now all passed, all were 3 years apart. There was never jealousy between any of them. Enjoy your new babies, puppies are soooo much fun. |

I run a tight ship. They all know what to expect....feeding time, going out, playing, going to bed.......everything has a schedule. My pups do really well but it it expected. I let one play mom as it makes her happy. If I am looking for a another I ask her where the pup is and thank her for helping. Try to give them all their place...what makes them happy. If I think on is getting jealous, I pet her at the same time I am petting a another. A lot of it is just being tuned i n to each pup. Good luck! |
