| We just brought Rowdy home! We did the introduction in our neighbors yard and Champ SNAPPED at him! It scared us so now we are apprehensive about putting Rowdy on the floor with Champ! We should we do...I've always heard we shouldn't take privledges away from the older dog when a puppy comes home, but there's no way we can keep Champ away long enough to let Rowdy done. Champ has shown interest since we came inside, but I'm still scared he will snap again! I know everyone says they won't like anyone for awhile but does that mean we have to keep them completely apart? Rowdy likes his playpen already BUT i don't want him to stay in it by himself too much since he JUST got home! I need help! |

| Maybe you should just let Champ sniff Rowdy for tonight through the playpen and keep giving him praise! Have you held Rowdy on your lap and let Champ sniff him on you?

| I introduced mine to my cocker spaniel slowly because he is a little nuts. I put the new dog in a crate and let them smell each other through the crate. Then I walk them together on leashes where they can't touch. Then I let them smell each other. In the house at first I don't have any toys or food laying around if they are all out because that might cause a fight. My new yorkie Darla was actually the more aggressive one. She snapped at the other dogs and me over bones. She is better now. Just take it slow and keep a good eye on them. Don't leave them alone until you are sure they are okay together. Congrats on your new baby.

| Oh yeah...that's what we've been doing and it seems to be working. Rowdy's in my lap right now and Champ keeps peeking around the corneer to check on us! I though Rowdy liked the playpen but now he's yapping if I put him in there...i know he has to get used to it but it's so hard! I haven't done the puppy thing in awhile...I'm not to the point where i can just let him cry quite yet |
