I Am So PISSED!! Whenever I order my dogs clothes, I have them shipped to my work address. So this morning I got in a big order of clothes (14 pieces) as a co-worker was walking by my desk. So we started talking about my dogs and she said she recently bought a dog from a pet store. So that naturally led to a conversation re: puppy mills. Do you know what she has the NERVE to say?? She said "Puppy mill dogs don't have feeling like regular dogs. They are special dogs used just for breeding." OMG!!! How can ANYONE be THAT ignorant?? After our heated discussion, she walked away but I don't think she really UNDERSTOOD why I was so upset. I referred her to Mill Busters website and to YT. I'm SO PISSED right now. :mad: How can anyone think that dogs don't have feelings??!!??!! :confused: I was having a great day so far because today is Katie's birthday but now I'm just to upset. :( |

Some people will make themselves believe something just for their own peace of mind. It helps her sleep at night to think that puppymill dogs don't have feelings. That's ridiculous. She is ignorant - but don't let it ruin Katie's birthday!! Happy Birthday Katie!!!! |

Thanks everyone. I won't let her ruin my day. I have a special evening planned for Codie and Katie. I got a big "doggie cake" for them and lots of treats. Plus I ordered all these clothes and they came in today. It's funny because today is Katie's birthday but Codie got gifts too LOL :D It just bothers me how people can even think that dogs don't have feelings. That does not even make sense! |

I keep trying to tell her about why I won't support any Amish industries, or go to dog races and she just looks at me and says "my cousin and I go to the races all the time!" Then when I try to tell her what happens to the poor greyhounds after the "usefulness" is gone, the subject always gets changed. Sometimes I get "well you can't change it so you might as well do what you want." This applies to any boycott on the news, pet store boycotts, etc. I've even tried to explain to her why I will drive across town to buy supplies from a pet store that doesn't sell puppies and she just looks at me with this vacant expression. Its sad. Leave a couple of pictures of puppymills on your coworker's desk. Maybe then she'll see that those precious abused dogs do have feelings. |

Wow. The total ignorance of people amazes me - Just to THINK that some dogs have feelings and some don't is ludicrous...where in the world would someone get THAT bright idea ? Happy Birthday to KATIE !!! - Don't let others blindness or callous comments de-value her birthday - Our dogs are lucky.... I think we just wish all of them are this happy and it hurts to know MAN is the reason many aren't...but don't let that person ruin a nice memory for you and Katie - I would guide her towards Millbusters and some puppy mill sites - the more graphic the better - See how she feels after reading some of the rescue stories out there and maybe she'll change her very wrong thinking. |

Ok Now I'm Mad! Ok I was pissed before but now I am F#CKIN FURIOUS!!! She e-mailed me back saying that these websites are NOT true and they make up fake stories and pictures to try and gain the publics sympathy!! She said dogs in puppy mills love their life and they love being a mother. I didn't even bother responding to her e-mail - I just walked over to her office and we had it out. But ya know what? There is NO reasoning with someone that friggin ignorant! I'm not even going to try again. She's so useless! All I can say is wow.. It never ceases to amaze me how stupid and ignorant people can be. How could she be so stupid to think that everything negative about puppymills is faked?! At least you tried to educate her.. I probably would have just slapped her. :eek: |
What logical reasoning is behing "dogs love being a mother"?? They rip their babies away from them at a young age and then continually subject them to litter after litter until they die or are killed because they're no longer of use and able to breed. How would someone ENJOY that? |
