We Were ALMOST attacked I dont know why such weird things happen to me... lol some might recall my post from a few months back. In summary I was out walking Bindi on this stretch of grass one house over from mine when a big van pulled up next to me very slowly and stopped. I flipped and ran my butt home with Bindi in my arms. When I turned back and looked they were cutting the grass and getting equipment out of the van. :-/ color me embarassed lol well I've got another one for ya. So yesterday I was taking Bindi for her nightly walk in the community park. It's basically an island park (one road goes in and then they have two bridges) in the middle of the neighborhood. So there is a lot of water and ducks (can you tell where I am going with this?). So there we are just trotting along when a very pretty duck starts waddling over. Bindi of course is beside herself and want to talk to "Daisy." Usually the ducks will stop a few feet away but this one kinda just kept coming. I started trying to pull Bindi back so we could start walking and ignore the duck but the duck kept coming. Next thing I know I have Bindi in my arms and Im RUNNING and SCREAMING and this freakin duck is chasing us! It chased us for half of the trail! Meanwhile, Half of my neighbors are just watching me. No one came to help. lol They probably thought I was nutso. I tried to make as dignified exit as I could.. It was so awkward to see people after the "incident" this morning. I hope they forget soon... just wanted to share :-P |
OMG thanks for the chuckle...sorry I don't mean to be mean but I can so picture that situation. You were almost mauled by a duck. Some animals are sure aggressive....who would have thought a duck would be like that. Did it have babies near by? |
ahah thanks for the laugh..im sittin in my office laughing u just made my day i was alil down and u made me feel better...thanks for sharing |
That is hysterical! I would have ran screaming too! The neighbors probably didn't even notice you running, screaming with a big mean duck chasing you-LOL!!!! :yelrotflmHugs-Kay & Jaxon |

A rabid duck...lol. I tell you I think our yorkies are magnets for other animals. They must look like nice little snacks. |
Sorry for the event..............but....................I needed a good laugh today:)...........thankfully you and bindii weren't attacked by donald or daisy....j/k i probably would have done the same. |
Oh, my! I feel for you. I have seen ducks when they are like that. Usually they have babies nearby.:D |
Quaked out Duck! That is crazy!!! Ducks can be mean and those lovely swans...look out:eek: Your story did make me laugh out loud though...I was just imagining the scene.... |
I know exactly how you feel! About 3 years ago, I took my 2 younger cousins to get Sonic slushies and then out to the Reservior to play at the park. Well they started throwing Sonic ice out to the geese and the next thing you know they ran out of ice and we were being chased by a flock of ice-crazed geese. We all ran to the car like lunatics! So now I refuse to let them feed the geese ANYTHING. |
When my kids were younger, my parents bought a goose and his mate. They didn't need watchdogs. Those two geese kept everyone away from the big shed and gas tank my Dad had out back for his business. Have you ever seen grown men running for their lives? Dad had to lock them up during business hours. Those two were something else. Hee Hee. I enjoyed your story. It brought back fond memories.:) |

Alot of the times people go and feed the ducks bread and stuff. I was laughing as well about this. But be glad it wasn't a goose they will peck you and flog you with there wings they are alot worse than the ducks. Glad it all worked out for you. |
