oh my goodness! My little one loves to play outside and i was really considering buying Hank one of those open top and bottom exercise pins, but now im really reconsidering. Either im not gonna do it or ill make/buy one that is fully enclosed does anyone have any ideas of what i could do to get hank some more exercise. I cant stay out with him too much. And he just looks so dissapointed when i bring him back inside. It breaks my heart. We go on walks three times a week. But maybe there are some ideas any of you have? im a new yorkie mommy and i need the help! thanks |
1 Attachment(s) is this what your hawk looked like? we had this one in the yard last winter. they are what you call a sparrow hawk. they are after birds mostly but can go after small animals too. glad you were able to take care of it. |
1 Attachment(s) I am so glad your baby is safe, please be carefull. I've had my fill of Wildlife  not only do we have Hawks and Owls, we have Coyotes, a Cougar that was hanging around (heard through the grapevine it was dealt with) Racoons that where killing all our neighbors Chickens... Neighbors where trying to trap the Racoons when they where awoken by god awfull screams and look below what they found in the cage  yes it is a baby Bear (when it was standing it was about 2 feet tall) pic was taken when it was still dark. And boy there was one p#$% off Momma Bear with another cub... We did hear the day before that there was a Bear with 2 cubs spotted.... They had to get another neighbor with a 38 shotgun to cover my neighbor from Mama Bear as he opend the Trap to let it go.... man i shure hope she took them somewhere else... I spend alot of time outside with my two on the leash, and the only time they get to be off leash is when i take them to town in my BF Friends House so they can run, i feel soo bad for them allways having to be leashed but they dont know any other way. Please be carefull everyone, and guard your babies..... |
So glad he's safe love. You must be so scared I would be. I hope your hubby puts the roof up quickly for you. Could I just go off the topic for the moment. Ivy is also dangerous to Yorkies. (As as is for other animals too.) You said he goes potty on this Yours has probably got out of the chewing plants stage, but thought I'd just mention it. I've removed all mine purposely.:animal-pa Hugs Shirl x x |
PLEASE....let me share this story with you. i met a woman at the vet hospital recently. we started talking about security for our little babies.I have two doggie doors that go from the inside of the hosue to the backyard. It is all fenced (especially because we have a pool). But, this woman was asking me if i let them free to go in and out through the doggie door and i said yes. she PLEADED with me, not to do that, OR to have a cover of some sort so that a large bird, owl hawk, etc could not come down and hurt them. Her neighbor (just recently) was washing dishes at her sink (where she can see directly into her backyard) and she SAW a hawk "swiftly come down, snatched up her baby" and that was it. just a few days later, she found her little baby, ldead, and litterally ripped apart. I CANT EVEN IMAGINE having this happen. My babies no longer go out by themselves, UNLESS im with them or UNTIL i get the area covered. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!! |
