So my friend is all exited about this add she saw.. She wants a Yorkie like mine and found this one in the Penny Saver.. I tried to tell her it's a scam... It TOTALLY is right????? I mean for starters, TCUP??!! $180 !!!

PLEASE! PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT let her (try to) buy that pup! That has SCAM in BIG red letters all over it! please inform your friend to do her home work.

Did you know that there is a website where you can buy photos of other people's Yorkies to put on your own website? I came accross it when I was doing tons of online research about Yorkies.

So...I think...in some cases these pics might not even be of real babies. I mean, they're real, but not of an actual puppy for sale.

Anyway...just FYI...

Totally a scam. I bought my yorkie for really cheap because I live out in the middle of nowhere. lol. But he's 12lbs and cost way more than 180$. Do they even sell yorkies for that cheap?

That is a really cute pup. I know the term T-cup isn't good, but a lot of people still use it. The other thing I question is whether or not the price is a typo and they meant $1,800. It might be worth a call to drill the seller. Calls are free...

You're a good friend. I'm surprised it gives a phone number. Most scams give an e-mail address and want you to wire money. Tell her to never wire money, and never meet anyone at a neutral spot to purchase a dog like this. One woman wrote in and said she was robbed while meeting the seller of a puppy in a grocery store parking lot; they had wanted cash. These scammers usually pick a price, that people find hard to resist, it's usually below $500.00.

Lol, that website sounds like a scam. They probably stole the pictures they are selling.

I'm sure it is a scam, your friend would do herself good to steer clear. If she won't listen to you then you can always prove it to her. I would call them up to see what they have to say, my guess is they are going to be moving to South America or somewhere were the climate isn't good for their "baby". And they will be missionaries or some other sort of christian type role. They only want the money it would cost to ship and of course it would have to be sent western Union.

And its a Hollywood area code. Who sells a yorkie in Hollywood CA for $180.00??!!! I can barely get a full tank of gas on that!! LOL

It is hard to tell if it is a scam or not from the little information that is there. It most likely is a scam, but I would call the number and see what the whole story is.

I think you'll be fine :-) They can't get anything from you with just that info. Let us know if they call you back! It's not a cell, it's a landline registered with Pacific Bell... so maybe it is just a typo?!

I suppose that's possible but it seems like a lengthy way to get phone numbers when one can just pick up the phone book for random numbers. Guess we'll find out...

No they cant spam me to my cell number, they dont have my email address. They could just call a lot. But then I can block the number very easily, I mean I have it. It's listed on the add... I just thought it was different to the other scams cause they list a local Hollywood number...

Thats true too... I think it will be fine, and like I said, we can just block them if they decide to abuse our numbers..
