what size baby onesie should i get chloe for after spay? chloes getting spayed tomorrow (:() and i want to get her a onesie she's 3lbs and i was wondering what would be a good size and should i cut out holes for her to go potty? any suggestions would be great! |
Layla was 3 lbs when she was spayed and fit into premie. Make sure you get more than one... they get dirty :p I did not cut a hole.. when i took Layla out to go to the bathroom i just unsnapped the onesie and rolled it up around her chest. |
I agree, if she is only 3 pounds you should probably get the preemie size. |
chloe goes on a pad tho should i cut one out anyway? |
aawwww! I didn't put anything on the girls after their spay. Just curious as to why you want to? |
i made a thread a few weeks ago and someone suggested i do so to prevent her from licking her incision did your girls ever bother with theirs? what were they like after their spay? |
I thought some people cut a hole for the tail, and you could cut another hole so she could pee as long as she can't lick her incision. . Hope everything goes well for your baby; she may have a few setbacks when it comes to training. Wishing her a speedy recovery. |
you might want to cut the hole then. just be sure to change it often so it's not dirty against her insicion. Maybe your girl will be like Donna's (yorkiedaze) but i kept a onesie on Layla every night until they were out.. during the day i could watch her and they itched her so i knew at night i couldn't watch her and didn't want to wake up to a mess ! |
I'd watch her when you first bring her home to see if she does try to lick her incision. My KaCee didn't while at the vets (she was kept overnight) but after I brought her home, she started to bother it. KaCee weighed about 3.5pounds at the time of her spay and 0-3 months onsies from target fit her well. Wash and dry them first and they'll shrink a little bit. I didn't cut mine either. If you put them on so the front of the onsie is on her back, it will snap together on her back..put her tail so it sticks up between the snaps. Definetly buy more than 1. I had a pack of 5 and that wasn't enough. |
Brooklyn was spayed last friday. She hasnt made any attempt to mess with the incision site. They did internal stitches and on the outside used the glue. I didnt need the onsie at all! Good luck with her spay! Im sure all will go fine. :D |

Opps, I'm speaking plural. It was Razael who I kept in the expen. The other two did come out of their spay like nothing happen. That's what the breeder said anyway. All three girls had inside stitches, and Zada was just spayed a couple of days before I picked her up, so she had to stay in the expen for a couple of weeks too. |
Bella was 6 pounds. I had to exchange the premie for a newborn. she wore it one night. if you have pajamas that might work also. I ended up just putting long shirts on her the next morning Bella had no clue that she had been cut even with all the cleaning of the incision!! I dont think she ever looked at it. The onsie seemed so uncomfortable and the shirt worked just fine! I wouldnt have even used that but she would potty outside and i wanted a barrier between her incision and the grass |
If it is any help my 6.5 pound baby wears 9 months and my 4.8 pound baby wears 6 months. Keep in mind they are going to shrink. Mine sleep in them every night. I put them on backwards also, I didn't cut a hold in it because the tail comes out the leg opening. I have pictures posted in the photo section I think it says proud mommy gets her babies ready for bed. |
