What airlines? What airlines an you fly with your yorkies in the cabin? I have never flown with mine before but I am wanting to look up the rates for flying to different cities that have been chosen for the next meet up. What is the fee usually for flying with your dog? |
has the next city been choosen? |
Well we fly American Airline ..... and we paid for a Roundtrip (Germany/US) 400 $ in the Cabin .... |
Southwest does not allow animals....We fly AA Hugs-Kay & Jaxon |
I don't know Delta's charge now, but their fee was $50 one way. That was flying from CA to VA. With the way airfares have increased and other fees...I wouldn't be surprised if all of them have upped the pet fee too. |
USAir Will take pets too. Their fee was $75 last time I flew. |

Holy Cow that seems like a lot of $$$ for someone that doesn't even get their own seat. I know you are taking them across the ocean and all but geeez, I had no idea. Are there other special requirements when you take them to another country? Just curious in case I ever take mine somewhere. Are you limited to one or two dogs? |
I have flown many, many times with Continental Airlines....I believe the fee is under 100.00. They also have a great PETSAFE travel department for those larger animals that must travel underneath. I use to travel a lot with SharPei's and they are wonderful. |

travel outside US You'd have to find out depending on which country, many have different requirements. I flew to Portugal and had to have paperwork filled out by the consolates (sp?) office, health paperwork from my vet, rabies proof etc. Some have quarantine issues. Inside the US in cabin..just a health cert. from your vet. |
I've flown with Bonnie on Delta and Allegiant Air. I believe the charge for each leg of the flight on both airlines was $50. |
I just booked tickets from CA to PA on Continental Airlines. It was $100 each way. |
Fee depends on the Airline All Fee's are different it depends on the Airline? It also depends on your Destination? Most Airlines will only allow one dog per person and no more than 2 dogs per section or cabin. Some Airlines require a Health Certificate from your Dogs Vet. So ask alot of questions! I have taken a Flight with Artie, from Orlando to Atlanta, connecting to Sacramento, CA on Delta they were very Pet Friendly and they charged me & $80.00 3 yrs. ago. So it's probablly more now a days with the gas prices! Some Airlines don't even allow Pets. I try to drive every where since I have 3 Yorkie's, I don't think I could Vacation without them? I guess I could I just don't want to! |
I flew NorthWest. It costs $80/each way per dog. However... they don't even look at your bag or nothing... at least not where i flew from & to. So I paid the $160 for the flight there, then nothing on the flight back. They flew in the cabin with me and if you dont get a packed flight and have a nice attendant, they might let you take your babies out! :) |

I Flew Aa In Feb And It Was $80 Each Way! |
It seems like a lot of airlines have just raised their prices for dogs and most are $100 each way now. That's what I paid to go to KC on Midway and I am going to Portland in a few weeks on Alaska and it is $100 each way. I am goin to San Francisco in Oct and we are flying Virgin America and they only charge $50 each way so that's a good deal! |
All airlines that accept pets in the cabin are now $100+ each way. |

Well, that sucks! You know somepeople will just say that their dog is a therapy dog, and the rest of us will have to use a different airline. |
I flew American Airlines, as southwest does not allow dogs. It is 80$ EACH way. So if you are doing round trip it will cost $180. I also heard that AA is not charging something like 25$ just to check ONE bag. Good luck! |
Well I just told my Husband about the $100 fee both ways and he wasnt too shocked.. It is too bad Southwest doesnt allow pets. My Husband also likes them because they dont fee you to death in other areas. He said alot of the other airlines are now charging a fee if you have more than one bag but Southwest doesnt |
I few United in May and it was $100 each way. Delta last Christmas was $80 each way but they stated their rates were going up to $100 on a certain date. |

I've had the same experience and I NEVER pay for Gracie anymore--and I fly with her every month, cross-country. She is so quiet and no airline person or flight attendant has ever mentioned my having a dog. Also my boarding pass never said I even had a dog even when I used to pay for her---it was on my receipt but never on my boarding pass. |

At least that is how it was for me. I flew from NH to NM. :) |
