Follow up: So I went to see my baby yesterday and noticed she was somewhat luthargic, I asked the girl if I could still take her home on Saturday and she said that the vet had seen her a few hours prior to me getting there so I asked what the vet said and she told me the vet said the pup has pneumonia! I was there crying for like 45 minutes, I couldnt believe it! After making my decision and thinking that it was just a simple kennel cough and that I could take her home with me tomorrow I was told she had to stay for a few more days and ONCE AGAIN was offered a store credit for a future puppy or the choice of trading her in for another pup. Today I will go back to see her and the other pups. I am devastated. I will keep you guys posted. |

I am so sorry  That is just horrible, I wish your pup all the best health in the world, and you too! May I ask where did you purchase the pup from? I am from New York and would like to spread the word about this place so that this dosent happen again in the future!! |

Only you can make the decision as for what you will do, you'll get many opinions here. |
Unfurtunately, I can not get a refund. Pneumonia is curable according to what I was told so its not like she has a birth defect or anything. That's why I can't get my money back. On the other hand, I get 6 months of free insurance and 1 year health defect "guarantee". I am stuck with this place b/c of course I wont let them keep my money. Again, I will keep you all posted, thanks for your opinions. |
If I were you, I would take your pup home and get her treated by my own vet. I have a Bichon here and she is wonderful - she is my third Bichon. Sunny will get better much quicke at home with you. Being where she is, she is just one of many and isn't getting the attention that she needs right now. |

I agree. She belongs to you....you don't need their permission to take her home. |
I wouldn't accept second hand information from an employee either. I'd be speaking to the vet themselves. |
I am very sorry for your puppy,I know it is hard in my last litter one of my babies (4 weeks old)started sneezing,my vet prescribed some antibiotics next day he was so sick I rushed him to my him he had developed a bad case os bronchitis during the next 5 days I had to take him to get antibiotics shots.I am glad to say he turned 12 weeks yesterday and he is a healthy full of ENERGY boy.You should wait and see what happens. |
I'm jumping in late here but I agree with the last few posts, take her home now and take her to your own vet. Get Sunny out of there ASAP. Then call all the places mentioned in the previous posts. This is a puppymill, maybe disguised as a pet store, but the dogs are coming from puppymills. They are selling sick dogs. They have all been exposed to each other so exchanging the dog for another is not going to get you any better chances healthwise. I understood your dilemia up to now and it is always hard to figure out if you are doing more harm in the long run, but for now, that one dog has a chance of a bright future and you would probably never forgive yourself if you did not do all you could for her. Please keep us all posted on her progress. |
Any more news on Sunny? |

I agree that you should go get Sunny and bring her home and to your own vet. I hope she is doing better. A course of antibiotics some rest and lots of love can go a long way, good luck! |
