OUCH!! I have a baby pirahana!!!

I understand our little ones are teething, Bowie has so many chew toys, frozen water bottles, mommys socks and kongs, yet, he still bite us. On the hands, ankles, lips, ears, neck, EVERYWHERE!! Sometimes hes just outright mean about it, he lunges with his mouth open. He looks liek a pirahana!! And OUCH! do those tiny teeth hurt!! I am scared. Does anyone have any advice for me. Ava did'nt for this so im lost. Thanks everyone

Gracie Ruth is 7 months & Boo is 5 yrs but they both sometimes forget themselves and bite too hard. I squeak "OUCH" loud and shrill and they will immediately stop and start licking as if to say, "Sorry momma, didn't mean it." However, my DH refuses to 'sound like a girly man' and squeak, so they chew to their hearts content on him. The squeak is what their litter mates use to tell them they are playing too rough. It seems to still work, even for Boo. There are other methods to try and I'm sure you'll get a lot of advice here. Just try them out and find which one works for you. Good Luck!!

Sometimes those little teeth feel like needles! I would say correct it before your pup turns into a aggressive grown up . Good luck

Thanks ladies!!!! Another question i have which is off topic, what do i doto correct his barking> Hes only 3 months, but he is constantly barking at my 3 yr old. He will literally bark at here for hours at a time and its really annoying. Does anyone have any ideas that i can use??

Although I've been blessed to not have an obsessive barker. I have found that with a little investment in time I've been able to control their urge to bark unnecessarily. I believe it's simply reminding them of who the pack leader is. It's not up to them to decide what to bark at, that is your job. As soon as the unwanted barking starts I'll touch them firmly on the back of the neck and say "at-at". Or whatever noise or word you want to use that will mean no, stop.

If someone knocks or rings the doorbell Gracie will run to the door and bark. That's ok until I arrive then her job is done, she alerted me - I arrived, now she is to be quiet. The same goes for barking at anything she hears that she thinks is important. I'll follow her to the 'danger' but then she's to be quiet. Barking at Boo is only limited to her barking to ask him to play. If she is barking to annoy him then she's quickly reminded that that is not allowed. A firm touch to the back of the neck or I'll offer her a toy or move her to a different room. So far this has always worked for any of my dogs.

I think that perhaps he doesn't see your child as above him in the pack. So having her say the "no" word or sound with you might help to lift her position in his eyes.

opps... When you said your 3 year old I just assumed child. Well try the suggestions and see if just you making the noise works. Boo has the patience of Job when it comes to Gracie Ruth. I just kept telling him he can say no to her and not get into trouble. He does now have a growl and woof that he'll use that says "Enough!" and 9 times out of 10 she'll listen to it. If she doesn't I'm right there to reinforce it. I also spend some time petting Boo and focus on him only. Of course G wants in on it. I just move her aside, tell her at-at and usually after about the 3rd time she'll sit off to the side and wait until I'm thru. This shows her that Boo gets special time, that it's not all about her, and as pack leader whatever I want goes. I also, in the beginning, always gave Boo the treats, food, access to outside, etc first. G always had to wait for hers. Again it shows her that I'm in charge, and Boo is 'above' her. Now it depends on why I'm giving treats as to who gets it first. Or who asked to go outside as to who gets to go first.

Your puppy sounds like my Peanut. He mainly aims for my nose and fingers. Those little choppers hurt like H*LL. Hubby yells at him "No biting" and I just say "Ouch Ouch Ouch Peanut, it hurts". He than either licks or aims for the other hand. They're just babies

Hahaha i know, they feel like little needles!!! He has gottenso much better since ive ssaid OUCH!!! and then stopped playing with him. Also ive been saying "Gentle" and i dont know why but he is being more gentle.
As for the barking, good lord!!! I think i may need to use the water borttle treatment, although i think he will then bark at the bottle. He is coming a long way , I only hope that loud barking stops soon. Thank you for all the advice everyone!

I am so glad to see that the bitting is a common problem among our young babies my Mylie is ten weeks old and she loves to bite what ever she can get her mouth around.
