PS...I won't tell your son. ;) |
I am not for or against tail docking, but did want to point out that in many, many countries, docking is banned, and a yorkie can not even be shown in those countries if they have a docked tail. Some of the countries who have already banned docking are: Australia Austria Belgium Brazil Croatia Cyprus Czech Rep. Denmark England Estonia France Germany Greece Hungary Iceland Ireland Israel Latvia Lithuania Luxembourg Netherlands Norway Slovakia S. Africa Sweden Switzerland Italy UK (Those found guilty of docking would face a fine of up to £20,000, up to 51 weeks imprisonment or both.) Virgin Islands Many other countries are currently working toward banning docking as well. Several states here in the US, such as New York and Vermont, have also considered banning cropping of ears and docking tails. My point is, that if one does NOT choose to dock their pups' tails you are not alone and are in no way doing anything wrong. I have seen long tailed yorkies and am owned by a yorkie with a docked tail. I think both are beautiful and both are completely Yorkie. |

Its a personal preferance. I personally like the look of a docked tail, but all puppies are cute no matter what! |
Congrats!!! Congrats on your new baby! And a :big_hug: from us on deciding to let him keep his tail! Please join our group http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/group.php?groupid=57 |
Thankfully banned here in the United Kingdom since last year. I really hope the US follows our lead soon too;) There's nothing cuter than a yorkie tail wagging like crazy!:D:thumbup: |
It is your decision , the most important thing is to give love and attention to the little one . |
I'm a big fan of the tail!! I wish we would keep them here in the states!!! |
My daughter's yorkie's tail isn't cropped and I think she looks very cute.:animal37 |

Nydia, I actually went to your site to see Yorkies with tails. I hadn't ever seen tails on Yorkies. I was surprised that you have the YTCA Standard and don't mention anywhere about your puppies not being docked. I respect your decision not to dock, just thought it might be important information on your site, since you feel so strongly about it. Now I'm wondering, does APRI allow Yorkies with tails to Show, anyone know? Do you have a picture of an adult with a tail. I'm curious what they look like. |

From what it says - you waited too long to get it done so why all the anger ?? I can see how you may want to help someone make a decision -but why not step back a little and try to post without yelling at people ?? Everyone has their own opinions and should be able to post them ...they shouldn't expect to get insulted for their beliefs. I personally like docked tails but wouldn't be upset if it were banned either. I just saw a yorkie in full tail just 2 weeks ago and he was adorable... but I love my girls little nubbies too - :) and I don't see at all what it has to do with Agility - This album has my Chanel Flying thru the air YorkieTalk.com Photo Gallery - Chanel Playing in the hose - Powered by PhotoPost - her little docked tail has no effect on her ability to fly - To the Original poster - Docked or undocked if the puppy is healthy then that's what counts. Some people won't buy a puppy with an undocked tail but there are plenty that will |
My first yorkie had a full tail. At first i wished she had come with a docked tail. But as time went by, it just added something to her personality!! My second baby has a docked tail. I love it too!! It reminds me of a koaloa butt;) I think it is just a matter of personal preference too. |
