Does Your Yorkie do the Poopy Circles? I'm laughing at my own title!! I remember when the breeder told me. "if she starts going in circles REALLY fast, she's is about to go poo!" Well, it didn't take me long to learn what the poopy circles meant! I can remember sometimes running around frantically looking for a spare potty pad when she started the circles! Mia will start going in circles until she's done her business. Is this normal? Its so funny! She also stops to take a sniff just to make sure its hers! Sorry, kinda gross...but funny! Do yours do this too? |
HAHA YES! I know exactly what you are talking about. I wish someone had told me but I did catch on after seeing Abbey do it a few times. Now if I ever seeing her doing circles I yell NO!!! And then rush her outside... Hey, atleast they give fair warning!! :D |

yea Meeko runs in circles too. When I brought him to meet my family, they were laughing so hard when they saw him. They claim my schnauzers never did this. |
Ha! I thought this was just my dog that did this. I never bothered to ask anyone else with a yorkie if their dogs did this too. That is hilarious! At least I know we're not alone. |

Yes its what they all do. Sometimes I will watch to see which ones has went and which ones hasn't. And sometimes it takes them so long to find the right little spot. I use to laugh still it snows and its so cold you just want them to do the business and get back inside. |

Layla doesn't do poop circle or smell her poop but she DOES sniff after she's peed.. i say.. yes Layla.. you peed there... let's go.. and she does :p |

Mine doesn't do the circles beforehand -- but he does what I call the Happy Puppy Dance right after he goes poopy. He kicks up his back feet, tosses his head and I swear he smiles! Relief! |
Lily must be the unique one here! She doesn't do poopy circles to indicate she's about to go... she circles AS she poops! At least one full rotation, or more depending on how much she has to go! We're just cool like that. :cool: |
Ohhh Bella does Nascar speed circles before she goes poo. It's quite funny because if you try to get her attention she gives you this look like "hullo, I'm kinda busy here and stop looking at me!" :animal36 And before she pee's she does this digging thing into her pee pad, like she needs to find the perfect spot to pee. |

My brother in law thinks it gets them going in order to go poo. Kinda like us humans do our own thing when we do the same. Quote:

Brooke doesn't do circles but my chi, Bitsy does!! She spins so much I am afraid she's going to make herself dizzy and fall over!!:p |
pebbles does this when she pees as well.. its like shes looking for a "good spot" :p |
Derby doesn't do the poopy circle thing. But I can tell he is getting ready to go cuz his tail goes straight out and his back legs start to get wider an wider as he walks to find the right place. This is funny.....last week we were walking from my house to downtown and my friend had ahold of his leash and all of a sudden we were crossing in the middle (of a not very busy street) and good ole Derbs copped a squat right in the middle of the street. HAHAHA! My friend started freaking out and saying....omg, what do I do....what do I do? And I wasn't sure what he was talking about and I turned around and Derby layed one out in the middle of the street. Some guys that were crossing in a car the other direction rolled down their windows and cheered for Derby. Boy was he just so happy with himself afterwards. I swear he felt a lot lighter cuz he sure did pick up the pace. :eyetearss |

Holly will run around frantically for a few seconds, then go to her pad and poo in one little pile. Gracie on the other hand will spin her bum all over until she is done. She can't seem to keep it all contained to one spot. It's almost as if she thinks that if she runs from it it will come out faster or something. I have no idea why she does this, but it is funny to watch. |
Apollo des the poop dance also, and he is very picky about where he does this,and yes he has to smell it too :rolleyes: |
