| Mom to Hot Rod | 06-28-2008 05:05 AM | Thanks to everyone for their input. I didn't realize that it was such a debatable question. I guess I feel like there is a comfort zone with a breeder that registers with AKC. What I mean by that is that AKC has been around for a long time and if a breeder takes the effort to follow the guidelines, then the chances are that they puppies are healthy and such. Not to say that there are aren't any exceptions to this. I understand that it is up to me to investigate the breeder as best that I can but I just feel that AKC registering is a good start.
since I would not be breeding or showing, registering really does not mean anything to me other than that comfort zone of a healthy and good temperment dog.
Thanks again for everyone's input. |
