What people snacks or food does your Yorkie like? Normally I don't give my pups people food but one night I was having a snack attack and of course they were begging for bites. I was have pickles and tomatoes. I figured they'd leave me alone if I gave them a bite and was sure they'd spit it out. Nooooo waaaaay.....Gracie's favorite now is pickles and she also loves tomatoes. Can you believe it...PICKLES???? P.S. She only get a little tiny bite because of the sodium. |
Bailey is spoiled - and she gets a taste of just about everything we eat, except onions and chocolate. The ONLY thing I've ever given Bailey, that she won't eat, is lettuce. :) |
Ellie & Chloe both love Cheerios, and Ellie favorite is bananas....she'll do almost anything for a bite of nana :) |
Gracie and Holly love a bite of most anything I eat. I give Gracie plain spaghetti, what a hilarious sight watching her slurp down a long one! They love baked Cheetos but don't get those very often. They both love cheese and Turkey pepperoni. |
I would never give my yorkie tomato products they are really bad for them as is onion, grapes, raisins just to name a few. Plus you have to be careful with certain foods giving them stones. I feed my yorkies sweet potataos, green beans, chicken, barley as a snack they can chew on carrots and celery |
I wonder if strawberries are bad for them...I give him a tiny tip end of the strawberry when I'm making a smoothie. He doesn't care for banana much, loves carrots, and of course anything sweet...those little furbutts have many many sweet teeth in their heads! |
Their new snack is watermelon, papaya and pineapple....gobble gobble gobble:animal-pa:animal-pa |
http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...oods-dogs.html You can also do a search here on YT about this topic...I know it has been posted about several times in the past what people like to give their Yorkies as a treat. Mine like cheddar cheese, egg whites, Cheerio's (sometimes), watermelon, carrots, green beans, and several other things. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ght=human+food http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ght=human+food http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ght=human+food http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ght=human+food http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ght=human+food |
K&K love cooked carrots, frozen bananas, boiled chicken, cheerios, sweet potatoes, steamed rice, sometimes peas, apples. Also they like quite a few dried fruits :) |
My Max loved raw baby carrots! |
:aimeeyork Suzi likes, chedder cheese, popcorn, little bits of flour tortilla, white chicken meat, rice, cottage cheese, pratically everything she see's me eating , however I only give her safe foods every once in a while .`:D |
Maya loves apples and strawberrys ... I had to move my plant outside cause she keep eating the red ones .... that stinker .... :D Other then that she does not get anything ..... |
Ellie's likes meat, vanilla ice cream, lettuce and banana the best. She gets anything that dogs can have and that she isn't allergic to. I had read that tomatoes aren't really good for them and can cause heart arrhythmias (which they may) but I haven't heard that from a reliable source (veterinary school or nutritionist), so I give in once and awhile and Ellie Ellie have some. If someone has a good source on this, please post. |
My two want to taste whatever anyone else is eating. Roxy will stick her nose up at alot of things but Remi will eat anything. Last nite a glob of ketchup, mustart and relish dripped off my hotdog onto my shirt - yep, Remi had it licked off before I could reach for a napkin. Roxy likes dairy(cheese, eggs, etc) but she does the nose rubbing all over the floor after eating it so I think she a little lactose intolerant, so she get very little of that. |
Chachi an Jewels like watermellon, cantelope, cheese, sometimes a piece of popcorn, vanilla ice cream, green beans, strawberries and peaches. I try to be careful what I give them |
our girls LOVE banana! hubby gives em tiny bites of baked Cheetos, they love little bites of apple, carrots, lettuce, now i have a question on human food,, I'm about to head home to pick and shell and put up lots of Purple Hull Peas,,and when shelling,, i always "shoot peas" meaning they'll be some in the floor,, i would think these should be safe enough,, long as they dont get TOO many,,what do ya'll think on these?? |
I had such a bad experience with our poodle getting table food (from my grandparents when we lived next door to them and they "puppysat" every day) which caused him to be overweight until we moved away and to have really terrible teeth issues that I swore to never give another dog table food. In order to keep Tatum from ever learning to beg at the table, we've really stuck to that strategy. She has even sat on my lap while I was eating and never even tried to get at the tabletop. I know that certain things are healthy but I don't want the begging thing to start. That said, the one thing Tatum does get is a tiny bit of sliced cheese when she has to take a pill (like her heartworm/flea pill). The only downside there is that she can hear a piece of cheese being unwrapped from across the house! So far the "only dog food approach" has worked well for us. |
Nolee loves cheese. All kinds! He will not eat anything sweet! Funny how all yorkies are soo different!;) |
My boys love pizza crust, carrots, pickles, air popped popcorn (but only with a bit of butter), watermelon, frozen peas, apples.... pretty much anything actually. They don't get much from me at all. After a bout of diarrhea with each of them in the last month they have not had ANY human food. |
cherrios and chips |
Carrots, watermelon, and cheese. The little bit of cheese is still a reward for pottying!:D |

I don't give Itsy any "people" food. My boyfriend and I always eat our dinner in front of the TV (we don't actually own a dinner table:rolleyes:) with her on the couch with us and I don't want her to get in the habit of expecting tidbits and jumping all over me while I'm trying to eat. Since I've never given her any bites of my food, she doesn't beg for it, and I want to keep it that way! |
My two like potato chips, popcorn, chicken, peanut butter, and cottage cheese. They don't get this stuff very often though. |
Yogurt, green beans, popcorn, cereal, peanut butter, chicken, hamburger, peas, chips, cheese, pizza crust. Pretty much anything we eat that is not harmful to them. |
What I read, here on Y.T. concerning tomatoes is that it's the tomatoe plant that is bad for dogs, not the actual tomatoe. Don't take my word for it though! Really, I just remember reading that at one time. Abby and Daisy love DQ vanilla ice cream, cheese, cottage cheese, plain yogurt, green beans, sweet potatoes and they love peanuts, but I just read on the dangerous foods list that their little bodies can't process them due to high phophorus content! No more peanuts for them! |
Ummmm my Katie can smell people food a mile away her nose wiggles up in the air when she smells my food LOL ! Love Cheerios Banana's Raw carrots Yogurt Cheese Chicken Rice potato's |
Joshua enjoys eating his dog food. I try to offer him health snacks. He loves to eat strawberries, apples, tomatoes, turkey, cantaloupe, carrots, green beans, and watermelon. Now and then, I give him hamburger meat (bite size). He will do anything for hamburger meat. I used hamburger meat to train him to leap on the couch. |
Anything I eat At the tender age of 4mo. Isabella will eat anything I eat. So far cheese seems to be her favorite but she has sampled burgers, chicken shish kabobs, turkey bacon and microwaved/dried hotdogs...Thanks for the ideas though, gonna go get some mini carrots tomorrow!! |
Lacey loves baby carrots and apples. We cut them into small pieces and keep them in a baggie in the fridge. |
