I want one soooooooo badly!!!!!! :D I know i'm gonna regret posting this if my mom sees it........... :rolleyes: before i got a puppy i told my mom, if you let me get a puppy i'll never ask for another animal ever again. ME AND MY BIG MOUTH!!!!!!! :eek: I just love the red ones!!!! I can't wait until i'm grown up and i can have 3 dogs.....
Ok i'm better now, glad to get that off my chest. ;)

I have never heard of red yorkies! What color red are they? Are they rare?

They are a rare occurrence. An overload of the red genes. However, no health issues involved. I have 2 of them. You can check out the photo gallery under my name if you'd like to see them. I have never heard of them until my Tiah had 2 of them on Memorial Day. Mercedes is my female that I am keeping and has a thread posted right now. They truly are beautiful little puppies (as are the standards!).

So when they grow up they stay that blonde color? Or are they more red/orange than the normal "blonde" yorkie?

I always wondered a/b that.

I'm not sure if you are aksing me, but I have not seen photos of an adult one. Also, I think that my two are going to have 2 completely different looks. I'll attach an older collage of some pictures. I joined YT on Memorial Day when my pups were born to see if anyone knew anything about them. We are all wondering how they will turn out and I said I'd post pictures once a week (I went a little overboard though). I have no idea what mine will look like, I just know they sure are cute puppies. Tiah had 2 red and white ones and 2 standard colored ones.

julz i have LOVED watching them grow up!!! i loved the pic with the one laying on its stomach. oh i want a red soooooooooooo bad. i'm sure they're going to be BEAUTIFUL doggies!!!

Megan...you should never say never...esp. with yorkies!!! I have two and would love another one but right now two is all I can handle, but I know one day that I WILL get another one, once my girls are older!! The red ones are almost irresistable....

kristen, DON'T I KNOW IT!!! i didn't even know what kind i wanted when i first started wanting a yorkie. and i thought i had no hope. i cna't believe i said it!!! my mom has never stuck to something so hard!! i only have one yorkie. i have a choc. lab mix who is 7. i wouldn't want one right now, tucker is still being trained. but after he was trained and everything, i WANT ONE!!!! they are just toooo cute!!

StephandGreg, If you haven't already done it, go check out Julz photo gallery. Not only does she breed gorgeous pups, she takes some great pictures!! :camera:

They're so sweet I could just take a bite out of those teddy bear pics!!! yummmmm

mabee after tucker is trained and shes sees how devoted you are and you still want a yorkie mabee shell let you get one i said the same thing to my mom when i got brownie then we got kayko now were getting another mabe your mom will want one lol hey tucker will need a friend his size HEHE LOL good luck

My Princess Chai is what they call "gold and white, but she has the same basic color "red" as Julz' pups I think. Here are some pictures of her at 8 months. She has four white paws and then white moxed with the goldish red color.

I have been looking for a red yorkie for some time now (2 years),, and only found 1 around here. I have found some on the net but I am not willing to have a puppy shipped. They wanted 3,500 for the one I found close by, but just could not aford it. I ended up finding Gus and fell inlove. But I always have my eyes open for a red one. I know I will find one sooner or later. I just hope I am able to aford her when I do find her.

I want a red one too, but Ramsey is such a hand full now. I'm not sure I could handle another. especially since I will be moving out of my parents house soon.

What did Mercedes parents look like? Were they both black and tan? Is red one of those strange genetic things that just happens?

Someday in the future (I want one now...but the fiance wants to wait) when I get Sydney a little sister...I want one that looks very different from her so I am interested in getting a chocolate or a red. I know that chocolate is one of those strange genetic things, but I was wondering about the red color.

Mercedes parents are both standard colored. As a matter of fact, my Mom bred her 3 Yorkie females with the same male and got all standard colored puppies. I could breed Tiah with him over and over and maybe never get another red one. It was just a fluke genetic overload of the red genes. Mercedes dad lives in a kennel and the owner keeps him shaved down for easier care. I will attach a photo. He is very little and makes Tiah look like a St. Bernard puppy! There is also a picture of Tiah with the puppies from last week. Her tan color is pretty reddish, but she was totally a standard colored puppy.

Who wouldn't want one of those beauties? Like many, I have watched the babies grow up and am so in love with them! I fell in love with whisper, and now mercedes but I really want a rescue. If I ever get rich I'll buy all you guys the yorkie of your dreams and I'll have a yorkie ranch crammed full of those baby dolls!

Sorry Megan, I saw it. And you forgot to mention you also have 2 cats, a turtle, a hamster and too many fish to count. (1 hamster, a guinea pig and a lizard died in the last year) NO MORE PLEASE MY HOUSE CAN'T TAKE IT.
