Thinking about rehoming I have a 3 yr old, 5 1/2 month old and two 3 month old puppies....I didn't realize how much work it was all going to be. One puppy is going to its new home over 4th of July weekend. I want to keep the other puppy because he is the son of my 3 yr old. The five month old is from a different breeder all together. I am thinking about rehoming her. She is a great dog, loving and friendly but her and my 3 yr old don't get along and I just don't think I can handle four dogs anymore, I work and go to school full time....not to mention the vet bills...oh brother don't get me started.....I have her scheduled for obedience training and then after that I am going to make my final decision......AAAAGGHHHHH......Any comments or suggestions would be great. |
I don't have any advice.. I just wanted to say that I'm sure this is/will be a difficult decision for you. I wish you the best of luck in what ever you decide to do and know that it will be in the best interest of the dog. |

That is a very hard decision to make, but I think it is good that you are taking your time to make sure either way she is happy. Good luck, and keep us posted. :) |

I have already paid for her puppy school so were going to do that and then decide if we want to rehome or not....its so hard because I am attached but I feel like she might be happier with a spoiling family...hehe |

Also keep in mind that it may be better for her to go to a home with multiple dogs so that she can have a companion. I've seen a complete change in Franklin since we got Maggie and now I don't think they could ever be apart. Again, good luck with whatever you decide to do. |

JUST TO CLARIFY LADIES .....I never said being with a family with alot of dogs wont be good for her I just prefer she goes to a family with not a lot of dogs....of course if the family is great and they a one dog I am going to be willing to give her up....but remember this is my dog and I am rehoming her and I get to choose where she goes and if that is what I want than that is what I want and if it takes me a year to find a family that I like then good and if not then it wasnt mean to be.... |

Sounds to me like you are thinking of the well being of the little one. I am sure you will place it in a fine home, when that time is right you will know. She is still quite young and maybe after the classes you might have a change of mind, anyway we wish you all the best. Patti and Jack and our girls. |

Tigger's Pictures I posted some new pics on my albums of all my dogs...and there is a lot of Tigger. Feel free to go take a look |
Dont let anyone make you feel bad about your decision. I have three dogs (not by choice, by default)...all are little, one Yorkie, one mix, one Maltese. I adore them all but they are so much work and so much expense. I also work full time but at least dont have school like you and no small kids either, so I do have a fair amount of free time, and still it feels like there is always something I need to do for one or the other of them. Also the expense of high quality food, basic vet care, grooming etc...can be daunting. If you feel you cant give all 4 dogs the proper attention and time, I think you are doing the right thing. Know your limitations and act according to those. |

uum um umm um um :shocked7q can I pick her up right now? :teethysmi You know we all love Tigger over here at my house. :teethysmi If you ever decide to rehome Tigger, please let me know. I gave 1 of Wookie's son (Jester) to my godmother and Jester is totally spoiled by her. She lives alone in a big house in Vallejo and it would probably do both of them some good for Jester to have a companion. |

:aimeeyork Oh man, I was just about ready to get her too:animal-pa You are not very far away from me either..... Closer then the bay area... THat is where i am orginally from and moved to Avenal five years ago. San Diego is 6 hrs. away. I am glad you decided to keep her. She is a young dog which would have made an excellent friend to Suzi .Suzi is 4 months. I have just her. :animal-pa I bet it is quite a challenge at time to have multiple dogs.. More to love. Someday I'll have one more Yorkie. I am home all day , disabled , and have time to give. :aimeeyork I am happy your keeping her, she sounds precious. If it ever comes a time for you, LET ME know , I would very be interested..:D |
I wish you the best of luck with what ever decisions you make. I know you will keep the best interests of both you and your precious little one in mind. |
You know your babies best and you know their needs. Trust your instinct. |
Thankyou ladies so much for such an interest in this thread...I have thought so hard about this and I just cant give her up...I am already attached to her and she loves my puppies....I think I know what it is....its because she is a crazy puppy...hehe...puppies are cute but they are like toddlers so I guess I need to have a little more patience because someday when I have kids I wouldnt just give them up because I get annoyed....I also know if I rehome her I am going to regret it and I love her so much....SO A BIG THANKYOU |

Actually after her puppy classes and chacha went to our best freinds tigger became a really good dog. It was a godsend that she snapped out of her evil puppy wys :) I'm so glad we decided to keep her. Also after that she became really close to my bf and they are like two peas in a pod. I truly love her and I feel like we have the best three yorkies anyone could have ( but I'm sure we all think that:)) |
Good luck on your decision! It's a tough one. |
