As far as getting "The Yorkie Scam" it happened to me too. I was new to being online again, after about 5 years (which a lot had changed by then) and I got the "American Missionary Scam" who was working in Africa helping sick and injured children. They recently bought a Yorkie and they now were unexpectedly needing to go over seas to work. So they needed a loving home for their 3 month old baby girl (Free of course to a good home) What Ever!! Then there was the lady that had to fly into San Francisco because her Aunt or Grandmother had died and they need to find a home for her Yorkie ASAP. I guess they didn't expect that I only live 20-30 minutes away and was willing to drive there immediately. As soon as I asked them for the address to come and pick her up, they would not respond to me anymore. I was kinda clueless as to what was going on. Not to mention how heartbroken :unlove: I was by this time. I think this is why I waited for a year an a half before I brought Lola home. That was again after my first baby had passed away at 6 weeks old from Hydrocephalus (water on the brain). I'm still mourning her, and tear up when I think of her. But, Its only been 33 days since she passed and time does heal. I lost a lot of trust in everyone that had a Yorkie for sale. It was pretty sad, and I cried a lot over it. I had wanted a baby (Yorkie) so bad, that the pain in my heart, was the same as if I was having multiple miscarriages. I hate those dam people:angry: for hurting me and other innocent people. They do this for a living, and probably make a good amount of income from it... I'm sure of it. Very... Very... Sad People! |
Well...it ended fairly quick with ole Davis...guess he didn't want to play! Now, Calista on the other hand sent me two other emails today about the flight info and that it would cost her $650 to fly them here and I would pay the $350 for this and that...I told her I was terribly sorry that today was a new day and I didn't feel like playing with her anymore.:D They are just pathetic and it is a crying shame that people do not see the "signs" of a scam. I think they want the item or pet so bad and they don't stop to realize until it is too late! |
hmmmm its cameroon is in africa they have been running this scam for along time years, they use different e-mail addresss and people your money is sent overseas and gone forever , there is also a dating scam going as well going by same people where they get lonely women to believe they are someone else and are overseas for work and ask for money for various things, its terrible that these people are tricking us out of our hard earned money and wanting to give an animal a good home, dr phil the news ect has had shows about these scams beware everyone, they have many ads on hooby and differesnt pet sites.... |
Its a shame these people don't have better things to do with there life. I guess you turned these people in to the ebay and craigslist and where ever these things are going on. We need to keep turning them in as a fraud. It makes America really stand out as stupid when we keep helping these countries make fools of us. |
I discovered that I am the type of person that needs to hear, touch, smell, see, and possibly taste, something before I purchase. That is why E-bay would never work for me nor would buying a yorkie unseen. God gave us great instincts and five senses some six.. We need to use them..( by the way, I wouldn't taste a Yorkie) haha.. |
When I was searching for my new baby Rosie, I found A LOT of scam ads-- many on Chron.com (Houston) I replied to an ad, and got what was clearly a response from a Nigerian scam! Kinda startled me really! So then, as I continued looking, I only responded to ads that listed a local phone number, and called directly. Also beefed up by spam filter for my email too, just for protection.. Three things I noticed, one is that there would be multiple ads with similar, if not identical wording, all containing bad grammar (which I have read is a BIG indicator!), the contact email would typically be a person's (alleged) name @ yahoo.com, and the pictures would be r-e-a-l-l-y fuzzy, like they were several generation copies. I hate these creeps.... |
