Bruce's Mom & shecass: I love these little dogs so much, and it just kills me when I hear about these cruel people that can't face up to their problems and take them out on these tiny, defenseless, LOVING animals. Paying for her surgery is the least I can do for all that she's been through. Lexi & Oliver are going to put together a little care package and send it off to Shira this weekend as well.

I am so proud of this group and how much we love these babies! This post was up only a week, and all the donations to Shira came almost exclusively from YTers, we were able to really make a difference in her life!!! Good job everyone, especially you LoveMyBabies!!!

Hello, I'm Shira's foster mom, Trish. I had to come here to thank all of you for the overwhelming support - both emotional and monetary. The concern that you've shown for this precious little baby truly warms my heart. I only wish there were more people such as all of you in the world!!

I'd like to personally update you all on her condition. Today she came home!!! Hooray!!! Sadly, she's not feeling very well, but she sure seemed happy to be back to her foster home! The surgery she had was major and it will take quite a bit of time for her to recover. She's on antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory, but no pain meds. We have to do physical therapy numerous times each day to keep her little legs limber and maintain muscle tone. Her legs seem very red to me tonight and she's having a hard time getting comfortable, so I may take her back to the vet tomorrow, just to be sure that she's fine. But she may just have trained us well because she knows that if she whimpers she's instantly scooped up and carried like a baby.

On a better note - she is eating and drinking and weighed 4 pounds today. That made us very happy!

I would like you all to know that Shira is the product of unsound breeding; probably a puppymill. Please help stop this horrible business. It does nothing but produce a ton of money for the owner at the expense of the health of these helpless little animals. Her original mommy loved her deeply and thought she was paying for a healthy dog - little did she know. Please don't doubt that she had a wonderful mommy who is struggling and made the difficult, however right, decision to let her go. She really had no choice.

Please forgive me if you've sent an email that I haven't answered. I've had problems with my email and some of it was accidently deleted. I've also had to devote most of my time to caring for Shira. But don't stop caring and email me any time, but please dont' get angry if it takes me a while to answer. I will send you photos as soon as possible, but I don't want to exploit her. And darn, she's a vain little thing and would hate to be seen without her hair done! LOL But I can send you a couple that were taken before the surgery.

Again, thank you! You have no idea of how very much Shira, I and United Yorkie Rescue appreciate your support. Without you, we couldn't save these little furbabies.

I am going to give a donation to them as soon as we get paid again. I hope one of you get her let us know ok? She is a lovely little thing and she is going to need a really good home. I am so glad I stumbled across this site. Most of you are amazing people and truly dog lovers. God bless each and every one of you.

fuzzywug-thats great!! i'm glad she's doing better!!! about the puppy mills. we actually do have a sister site called millbusters.com. all of us here hate puppy mills. its so sad that she probably had to go through that.
again, i'm so glad she's doing so much better, what a miracle!
