Bruce and I just made a donation for her surgery! She is fostered in our area so Bruce wants me to find out if I can donate his extra stroller (since she will not really be able to walk for a while after surgery) and some toys he has never used to her. Hopefully that will be possible! I would adopt her if someone had not already staked a claim, she is absolutly precious!

Jenn: That's so sad. You are out of your mind with lovies for this little girl. gosh if you could get her that would be awesome. Do you think it could be a possibility?

I've had trouble with adopting before because I always end up liking a dog that is not fostered where I live. A lot of shelters do not want to adopt a dog to a person if they cannot do a home check - which makes sense, it's for the benefit of the dog. I just get so bummed out! I already filled out an application (even though it's too soon to adopt her) and I will have to wait for a response.

I just can't imagine how sad she must have been to lose her mom and to be abused by HER DAD - someone who she trusted and loved. It just makes me so angry. I can't look at her little face without feeling so sorry for her.

jennifer i'm sure they're going to let you have her. i'm sure you are going to give her the best home possible. i bet a bunch of other people look at that ad and go i don't want that dog there's something wrong with it, but you are welcoming her with open arms. good for you, you're awsome!

How Sad, I hope this little girl gets a wonderful home, she is precious and never deserved to be treated like that, makes me sooooooo mad :mad:

Thanks. I appreciate the kind words. :D To me, nothing can compare to seeing the world through the eyes of a puppy who might otherwise have only seen the walls of a cage or to hear the "laughter" (happy, playful barking) of a dog who might never have laughed. Even when I'm awakened by my 2 dogs in the middle of the night, I thank God for the privilege of being chosen to answer the cry.

Let me know if they have a problem with you being out of the area, because then I will put in an application! Oh she is so sweet, I do not understand how someone could take on the responsibility of loving and caring for such a precious little girl and then abuse her!

I think you should definitely put in an application now because they sometimes do them in a "first come, first serve" basis. She would be in good hands with you (and Bruce :D ).

There is an email address listed with Shira's picture. I was going to send her the link to this site.

I also wanted to know if there were close to getting the amount to have her surgery.

I also wanted to know if we could donate items for Shira like Greenies and I think Bruce's Mom wanted to donate a stroller.

I will let you know if I hear back from her.
