My picture was stollen from my website!!! I was browsing on puppyfind and while browsing I came across one of my puppies from my past litter!!! I am not very happy right now. Who gives them the right to use my picture of one of my past puppies as their own:eek: Should I contact this person? How do I protect my pictures from being stollen ever again? Thank You |
I have no answers but I would think if you contacted PuppyFind...they would put a stop to it. How to avoid it...no clue what to say. Shame on these people for taking what does not belong to them and treating it as if it does. This is false advertising, right? Theft? Fraud? |
OH NO!! I dont have any advice but it seems to be happening more and more lately :( |

But if I were you I would contact the person and tell them to take your pictures off immediately. Also put a light wording through the center of all your pictures so if someone were to take them it would have your kennel name or business name on it and they couldn't edit it out without erasing the whole picture. |
I would definitely contact PuppyFind and report the illegal use. Because it is the web, you may have a little trouble but most sites will remove pictures if any issue is reported, right or wrong. In the future, depending on the photo software you use, you can add a watermark on top of posted photos. That way, people visiting your website can see the pictures but whatever logo you choose will be displayed on them forever. If someone chooses to use one of them, every other person out there who sees it will see your website logo. The beauty of watermarks is you can save one folder of pictures with them and one folder without them for your private use. Look into doing it, it is worth it and your pictures will never be stolen again. |
Not only do they claim to have my past puppy for sale they have MY puppy listed under TEACUP BOY (she happens to be a girl)!!! My puppies will never be teacups nor would I ever advertise as teacups. This little girl they are advertising for sale is now full grown at 4 1/2 pounds living in Florida not Ohio lol. |
YOU may want to talk to MIKE (ALASKA YORKIE) I know he knows how to place watermarks on pictures. Maybe he can share how to do it with you;) |
I also believe that a similar situation happened to Villette, not to sell the puppies but some kind of ad. Best of luck, maybe you should also send them an email and question them... |
I am not really good at confronting people. So how does this email sound? I do not appreciate that you have stollen one of my puppy pictures to sell her as your own puppy! This puppy does not even happen to be a boy and mostly not a TEACUP!!! My puppies will never be advertised as teacups either. This puppy so you say is for sale happens to be full grown and 4 1/2 pounds not no teacup! What you are doing is false advertising, Theft and Fraud. How hard is it to take your own pictures? I want my picture(s) removed from all of you advertising ASAP!!!! |

Not harsh at all, they are your property and you are allowed to ask for it to be removed. |
so sorry it was taken. I would contact the webmaster. |
If you buy your own domain then you can set it so that anybody that tries to right click to copy it won't be able to. An air message with a message of your choice (something like this pic is the property of.............) |
Hey, I might even add in there that if he/she did not comply, I would be contacting the AKC and lodging a formal complaint against them as a breeder. Surely the AKC wouldn't condone breeders committing fraud in this way. I am not a breeder and complaining to the AKC may not even be something that can be done but the person stealing your pictures probably doesn't know that! LOL |
Here is the reply I just got back I am sorry but I do not know what you are talking about. The pics that are on my add were sent to me by the buyers of my puppies and they sent those to me as up dates. Which pic are you talking about. I will get to the bottom of this. |
Likely excuse...what ever!!! That is someone lying for sure. If nothing else they still need to remove the picture!!! |
