Hello my name is Lynda.. I am a very new Yorkie mommy. I received my lil Leo as a gift just this Saturday. I am looking for a lil help on grooming. What is a pretty way to groom a male yorkie? Any tips would be welcomed as I am very new to dogs and Yorkies. Thank you

HI,
Welcome to YT.
How old is your baby? I think sometimes the dog pics the look.
Some like bows some dont. Also as your baby grows and you determine what type of coat he will have you will find the best cut that suits his play habits and comfort

As you read around YT you will see various cuts and styles.
Cant wait to see pics of your lil man!

Congratulations and welcome to YT. I too was new to dog ownership. Although I had grown up around them, I never really had one of my own. Hot Rod has definitely taught me a few things and I am sure I'll learn a whole lot more! But it been an absolutely fun ride.

I try to put bows in his hair, but they last at the most 10 minutes. I am growing his hair out for the winter so I will hopefully win this battle when his face hair gets long enough so I can really get it up in a topknot. Hubby still says that boys don't wear bows, but you know who winning that arguement. Anyhow, I had gotten a puppy cut for him early this spring and just got him tidied up a couple of weeks ago. It really depends on your dog but I LOVED the puppy cut on him. I do like his face hair longer too.

He was 8 weeks old Saturday. I have added some photos of him on my profile in the album. Very new to this forum trying to get the hang of it. I've seen many cuties here so far.

He is very cute. You have plenty of time to learn what you like and what goes good on him. I would look around and read alot and see the pictures of different one.

Thank you, I've looked at a few here on the site, been doing a ton of reading on them from the moment I found I would be getting him. So far he is doing very very well. He is potty training very nicely and staying in his crate at night with out problem.

Thank you ladies so much. Oh I know he is just adorable. When the lady sent photos of him I was in love. I had to wait two weeks for him to be old enough to come home,and it was so neat being in love with him before even meeting him. I've wanted a Yorkie for a long time but due to work and small children did not have the chance. NOw I have him and I"m inlove, he's been so wonderful. I had a mini weenie before,but we had to get rid of her. She was just a very unruly and mean dog. Later I found the parents were 6th generation of inmbred dog and the vet said that could account for her issues. But Leo has been wonderful thus far. He listens very well.
Thank you for all the comments and the help offered ladies, I'm sure I will be asking more down the road. Also each of you have adorable Yorkies,they all look soo happy!

So much... you all have been so kind. I'm enjoying him to the max, I have a 5 yr old and a 7 yr old and they love him. He's been so much fun thus far. Spoiled already no doubt. ha ha
