Mine didn't follow the chart at all. Rily started out charting to be 6 pounds. Now at 10 months, he is 9 pounds. Saydee was charting to be bigger than Rily, but now at 6 months, she is 6 pounds. Neither of them have grown much the last two months, so I think they are about done. I personally don't think you can predict their adult size unless you are a breeder and know how the lines have done. :) However, the lady I got Rily from said 5-7 pounds and Saydee's breeder didn't think she would get to 5 pounds. So, they are like a box of chocolates...you never know what you will get...except for the fact that no matter what size they are, they are still a "big dog in a little package" overflowing with love! :D |

My vet told me you can guess pretty accurately by doubling the 12 week weight. However, I read an article written by a YT breeder and she said to double the 12 week weight and add 1 lb. to that. With my dog, that was more accurate. I think the AKC standard to show is 4-7 lbs. so what people want now, the tiny 2-3 lb. dogs, is not breed standard any more than the larger 8+ dogs. |
my yorkie puppy weighs 1 pound and 9 oz and is 10 weeks old how big will he get? |
my big boy My 3 year old yorkie is 12 lbs. He is a big boy as far as yorkies go. Jimmy |
My Baby Molly is 12 weeks and 2.14bs. They estimated her at 5lbs. Wich if you do the double method and add a pound would be about right. But we will see, and I love her no matter how big she gets :) |

I LOVE it.. I have a Shih Tuz that we often call Tank (or Sherman.. sherman tank) he is very big for a Shih Tuz... 25/26 lbs last time to vet. He is 3 ... so hopping he is done:eek: He also uses his body... plowing into his older brother and blocking, just like you said about your furbut. He is gently with Remy, but does block her when dh shows her attention. Bailey is an attention hog.. and a food hog. Bailey eates, and eates!! I have always free fed, but I am trying to change to homecooking and two meals per day. Poor Bailey, I see him looking at the empty bowl:( His health will be hurt if he gains more weight... I sure know how he feels:( Remy gained a pound at about 13/14 months. I was really happy with the first 1/2 pound because she was too skinny...could count her ribs!! She looks great with the 2nd 1/2 pound, but now she has a bit of a belly... :) oh.. she is 4.5lbs about 10 inches long and 10 inches tall |
My little guy was 4.2 lbs at 13 weeks and he ended up 5.6 lbs. He's kind of on the skinny side compared to a lot of yorkies I've seen, but the vet said he still looked healthy and he might bulk up when he's older. He has access to good, high-quality food as much as he wants, he just hasn't gained much weight! |
Size. Does it matter? I recently became the owner of two Yorkie puppies. I'm in love and so is my husband. Auggie is 22 weeks and weighs 5.5lbs. I realize he is not a teacup size :) but can anyone hazzard a guess as to his adult weight? |
