| ![]() We have a good local site that gets a decent amount of responses if you want to post a wanted ad or something for sale. I've posted a few times on it, and I usually get a few responses. It's always the same thing: I want either a Maltese or a Yorkie to be friends with the Yorkie I already have. I don't care about registration, and I don't want to pay alot. It's so simple. Yet, I get the same responses over and over. This time, somebody messaged me bragging about how the Yorkie they were selling was AKC registered and how it was only 750 dollars. Ugh!! I'll never pay over 400, and I know I don't have to. Each one I have bought has been 400 or less. So then, he mentioned another Yorkie he has that he'll give me for a "discount" of 650 because her bite is screwy. Gee, thanks. A 100 dollar discount because of a bad bite. My lucky day. I swear people are so eager to sell their dogs and reap teh profits they don't actually read the ads. Grrrr. |

| ![]() Just a little hint. Be very careful about answering adds in the classified section. Some red flags: if they don't want to check you out, if they haven't vet proof that the dog is healthy. As for price, getting a Yorkie from an ethical breeder may cost you more than $400. JMO. I hope that someone who has much more knowledge than I do will post and help you.

| ![]() The last time I checked, Yorkies were the most popular breed of dog in the US. That's what makes them so expensive. It's the supply and demand thing. Finding a healthy Yorkie pup for $400 or less would be very suspicious to me. You can probably get some mixed-breed or possibly even unpapered purebreds for that, but please just be careful. Sadly, the Nigerian scams have now filtered out to non-existent dogs for sale because so many people got wise to the e-mail scams about how their great-uncle's third cousin twice removed had left them a fortune just waiting to be claimed. I had a very long conversation with the advertising director of our local paper (Philadelphia Inquirer) about why they were allowing these scams ads, and she said they had no way to screen them. I asked if it was okay if I screen them, and she said yes, and I do that every Sunday. I find the scam ads then report them, and they remove them from the paper. All dogs are good dogs. Just be careful what you buy ![]() |

| ![]() i hope you find your puppy soon! but i know what you mean about not wanting to really pay more than what you've paid. i got my mickey for $400 10 years ago and now that i want a puppy of my own (though mickey was a present to me, he becamse my parents dog) and most yorkies are $1000+. if you happen to be in korea, yorkies here go for $350-500 that's the norm price (which is considered expensive because maltese are $150-200...) it sounds cheap, but you should also note that $4 is their min wage. |
