I forgot to mention that he currently has the garage instead of the kitchen. Dang remodeling projects. We thought that re-tiling the kitchen would take a few days and here we are 2 weeks later!! I know he doesn't like the garage, but it isn't SO bad. |
Hot Rod's expen is in the family room where we spend most of our time. His bed is in his crate in his expen. He has access to our sunroom too. The dining room, lower bedroom and stairs are closed off to him. We recently started leaving him loose when we are not home. |
My Yorkie has his own five star hotel! haha, that's what he always asks for, but honestly, we keep him in his own room which we sometimes use for a guest room. |
During the day Teddi has full reign of the living room, dining room, kitchen, and one bathroom. At night she is in my bed. She has pee pads in the corner of the dining room but she rarely uses them...she basically holds it all day...maybe once a week she will go on there out of necessity. I walk her before I go to work to get several pees out and a poop and the same when I get home and then right before we go to bed she goes out one more time. |
Lil Miss Maggy Mays kennel is set up in my hubby and I's bedroom. |
Javah stays in our den but also has his bed in our living room:aimeeyork |
My yorkies are allowed to the entire house . Puppies have a special room for them . |
We tried several things at first to hold our little Boss, but he proved to be quite the escape artist. I have to say I was impressed, because he didn't making accidents all over the house and for the most part went in my youngest son's room (he's our diabetic) to watch TV and sleep. I am going to purchase a gate, we have a very long hall and it is perfect for him even when he gets older. |
Sydney has free roam when we are home...stays mostly in our room tho. She sleeps with us at night. She stays in the utility room when we are gone. |
We have a crate for Chloe for her to stay in when we are at work. However, we don't lock the crate's door...so, she always just come out and roam around the house...and she has been a really good girl..no accident at home since I let her free roam around the house when we are not home! I am so proud of her!!! |
My babies have full run of the main living area of the house. I do not crate nor confine as a general rule, except for keeping Chattie and Chizzie separate because of their fighting issues. The dogs have washable potty pads and go outside -- so if they "need to go" and aren't let out, they automatically go to the pads. I do occasionally crate and/or confine individual dogs so that they will not go ballistic in case I were to ever have the need to crate/confine. I admit that pad training the pups is a bit more tricky since they have run of the house, but I firmly believe that the social skills learned are worth far more than a few potty mistakes. At six weeks Chizzie's pups are learning where the potty pads are and try very hard to "make it". Chattie's pups aren't quite there yet. |
Bella has run of most of the house. We close our bed room door and have a baby gate blocking off the formal living room. That is open when we are home. She takes her self out to potty 24/7. I hear coming and going all night. She sleeps in her bed or on the couch. She chooses her bed most of the time! |
I have gated off my kitchen so they have a huge area to roam around in when I am not home. But when I am home they have free run of the main level of the house, I gate the top of the stairs so they are able to get in the basement (for some reason they loose sight of their potty training abilities when they get in the basement but are totally fine on the main level of the house) |
Max has free roam of the house when we are home. If we're gone to work, we keep him in the kitchen with a baby gate. If it's a short run out, we close the bedroom door and leave him out. He loves to look out the window so we asume he spends that time in his favorite spot. He sleeps with us at night and sometimes, he'll sneak off to his bed which is near the bay window he loves to look out of. |
Onni is with me wherever I am. Her play pen sits right behind my desk chair and she also has a play pen in our bedroom. She is in her playpen in the dining room when I cannot keep a close watch on her, other wise she zooms around the kitchen and dining room while I work. I take her with me when I get dressed and she zooms around the bathroom and bedroom while I get dressed. She also has run of the living room when we are in there watching TV. None of our big dogs are aloud in the living room so she gets a huge play room all to her self. If we have to leave her alone at home (which is not often) I leave her in her kennel in our bedroom with the door shut and the TV on. :) |
