well i work from 9-5.30 monday thru fri. sometimes my cousin goes to my house at around 3.30 n plays w abby. once i get home i stay w her. my b/f works mon 9-9 tues 2-9 wed 9-9 thurs off friday2-9 n sat 9-9 n sun off. he comes to my house to get abby on thursday n he says hes gonna start bing w her from 9 to 1 wen he works late. i guess u cud say she's alone quite a bit but i make up for it on the weekends. im w her alllllllllllllllllllllll day saturday n sunday. i take her where ever i go. except for work. if i go shoppin i try to take her cuz she stays still inside her bag. however i dont try to sneak her anywhere cuz i refuse to leave her in the car especially in this weather

I have 3 Yorkie's. My Sister in Texas, has 2 a male @ 2 yrs. old and a female @ 1 yr. old but they are crated and kept in the Kitchen all day. She walks them an hour in the morning and an hour in the Evening and they are not allowed around any other Dogs except for other Yorkie's that are owned by her Friend's.
I have been told that I am too extreme, I take mine every where I can they "Socialize" with everyone and every animal not just other Dogs, they are my "Family" and they are "Trained". It's frustrating and breaks my Heart, when
my Neighbor and Sister complain to me about their Yorkies being so "Stupid" or too hyper active and "Wild" and all the other negative comments!
I feel some what responsible since I talked them into getting their Yorkie's, they feel disappointed that their's are NOT like mine. It's hard constantly biting my tongue, I feel like saying something like "Why did you bother getting them"? I don't say anything b/c I don't want to loose them as "Friends".
They say I'm the "Crazy" one and I spend too much time with mine?

Oh, I can see why this bothers you especially since you are the one that recommended them. People come to visit, and fall in love with Joey; he's smart, friendly, and well behaved. However, they don't realize the time it took to get there, and training is still an on going process, and he occasionally "tests" his limits. I really don't think that yorkies are a good dog for everyone. I believe that they are a great dog for anyone who wants a baby, and with proper training they can turn into a perfect companion.

Why do you care what people think? Are you happy? If so....YOU be YOU!!! I can't tell you how many times people I hear speak of situations that they have to "bite they're tongue" WHY????? Everyone has to do what works for them. You don't have to feel bad that you choose to take your furbabies with you. If a dog owner chooses to lock they're dog up all day, and walk them at night for 1 hour ,so be it. I psrsonally take my little man everywhere I feel he's safe and loved. I too have some people who for there own reasons,don't like dogs/cats, so I can respect that and keep my guys home. But if they come to my house, and I tell them I 'm not locking them up,please respect my house my feelings,they do. EVERYTHING is a choice.

I'm one of the lucky telecommuters that has a complete home office. Under my desk is dog beds. I only leave my fur babies to shop, eat out, etc..

Vacations are getting less frequent as I hate to leave them but I do have some great options when I'm on vacation.

My fur babies are way to used to me being around all day.

Here is a picture of them sleeping under my desk. This is six of them and one is on my lap most of the time. :D

I think that it is wonderful that you take your furbabies everywhere that you can. They are great company aren't they. I can see how you would feel frusterated with your neighbor and sister, but I think that it is silly for them not to realize that it takes time and energy to have a well behaved animal of any sort. you had a reason for getting your dogs. And you are giving them the best home that you can, I would be proud of that if I were you!!! It is sad that they cannot understand that and as for the Crazy lady comment just know that your definately not alone, I am a crazy yorkie lady too and am thinking of having a shirt made ;)

I take my aunts pom 2 days a week because otherwise she is locked up all the time, my aunt knows that it makes me angry that she hardly spends time with her so she handed me a house key and her schduel. It is hard to say something to family or friends, but now I am kind of glad that I did because her sweet girl gets to have a couple days that she is out and part of a family.

i spend every second with bella.....and i know that i am crazy about her....hehe. unless i am going to school she is with me every minute! we do everything together!!!

I am gone from mine only when I am teaching a class outside of the house or my one day a week part-time job. But, hubby has been off work since September, so when I'm not home - he is.

My girls use pee-pads and sleep with us also. We occasionally go on bike rides (with the girls in their bike basket) or to the park and we regularly do meet-ups, but other than that the girls are not outside. I don't take them places with me unless I'm specifically going just to the pet store as places around here are not pet friendly and I won't leave them in the car alone. But, I'm also not gone that much.

Pixie comes with me everywhere apart from the 4 hours a day that i'm at work or if i'm going shopping. when i'm getting ready for work she gets in her crate because she knows the routine now, we holiday with our dogs too..i couldn't leave them.

Well both me and my husband work full time so Ozzy goes to Daycare 3 days a week from 7am til 4:30. He loves it there and has tons of dog friends and the staff all love him :) The other 2 days he is home in his pen :( If we go to friend's houses at night he comes with us and all of our weekend plans always include him. We wish he could come to work with us but he can't :( I miss him all day.

I know what you are saying..i miss pixie too and wish i could take her with me...sometimes i think...well, she's small enough to fit in my pocket...lol:p

I'm crazier than you then. All three of mine are with me...pretty much 24 hours a day. They all go to work with me every day.

I'd say on average....we spend less than 8 hours apart a WEEK.

I am a SAHM to 3 skin kids and 2 furbutts. So I am with them all day unless we leave to do errands. Kammie will follow me around and jump up on the back of my right calf every step I take about 75% of the day and be snuggled against me the rest of the time! Koda is a little more independent by not much, he is very needy too ;) It's a bit to much to take all 5 kids and sometimes DH too in my car (VW Passat) it's just not big enough ;) But we did over Memorial day when we took the kids to a hotel to swim and then camping. What a bunch of loons we probably looked like! Me driving w/ Kammie on lap, DH in passenger seat w/ Koda looking out the window, and 3 boys ages 4-9 in the back seat fighting 99% of the time!
K&K sleep with us too so all in all were not apart very much ;)
DH says I have OCD w/ them, but I just say...."You kept telling me to find a hobby!"

well Im with Gracie ALL day :) I dont work... and Gracie is my service animal... some of you know that i have ptsd (post traumatic stress disorder..) so she can go EVERYWHERE I go!! :) I still dont feel right about taking her to a restaurant or the grocery store (unless its Super WALMART or super Target)... but she goes EVERYWHERE else... Ive taken her to the movies with me!:eek: the manager didnt like that one...lol and Ive taken her to church with me! lol
eta: Gracie will sleep in her bed for half the night but then the other half shes up on the bed! :)
