He is asking for $200. There was a picture. It was on a craigslist type thing. I e-mailed him out of curiosity and hopeful it was real. He sais the puppy was a gift from his wife from a breeder, is AKC registered, comes with health guarantee, calm temperament, likes to sit on lap and watch TV, gets along with their cat and Rottie. They need to move and can't take the pets. Didn't mention anything about hte other two though. He asked for a description of my home and environment. I was not too specific as I did not want to give too much info. Simply said my work schedule, kind of neighborhood I live in, number of children I have and fenced yard. He said it sounded ok. didn't say much except that and the $200 rehoming fee plus $100 for the plane- which I'm not crazy about. the baby is 2.5 lbs, and expected to be about 5 full grown. My Sammy is 10 lbs. Anyway, I e-mailed him with a bunch of questions. What happens if she gets sick, provide copies of vaccination and vet receipts, akc papers, how to handle exchange of money, asked about "shipping" the puppy. She's in Iowa. I asked for picture and what kind of food she's on, just to see what he'd say.

I think I asked the right things. It sounds legal to me, what about you guys. I need some opinions. My husband said we could have another one, which I was shocked at, so I'm exploring the opportunity.

Thanks for the suggestion. No area code 419 in IOWA. and the $100 did sound kind of cheap but I wasn't sure. I did ask for a current picture. the one on the ad looked like a "pose"- you know with the baby in front of some poster and feathers and a big bow on her head. Thanks guys. You will find over four complete pages listed with ten listings on each page.

I would totally stay away from that.

ETA:

I would be VERY suspicious about any 200 dollar Yorkie.
