anyone heard of this breeder??
 

i live in hammond, louisiana
as of right now i have a deposit down on my puppy whom ive named Lexi :)
i dont have her yet.... the big day is June 15th.
weeeellll, i guess just being a new mommy im NERVOUS! mostly about my breeder, whom i havent been able to find much info on.. other than one comment that was made in 06 here on YT.
so ive requested an update on photos and he said it would take him a day or two... which i found a little old..
well its been those two days and im SSOOOO anxious to see my baby.
i also asked him to PLEASE test for liver shunt. he hasnt replied so far. UGH its killing me..
after hearing all the horror stories, am i next?

ummm did I miss it?!?! Who is the breeder ;) lol!

I checked out his website, and I would not buy from him. First of all, it states on the "Yorkie Parents" page that "all yorkie moms are under 3 lbs.":eek: He should NOT be breeding a yorkie this small. HUGE red flag!!!

He advertises "teacups", and there is no such thing. He has mixed breeds, and bengal cats. Bengal cats are beautiful, but I don't think I'd have them if I was breeding small dogs.

I didn't notice any contracts or guarantees, but I didn't look much further once I saw the things I mentioned above.

PLEASE do you homework, and AVOID this guy.
You will not be saving a puppy...you will be dooming it's mother to a horrible life as she will be forced to reproduce again to replace the "babay" you are buying.
If no one bought these pups, the puppy millers would find another crop and stop breeding the dogs.
Now you know what is up with this breeder, and it is a sin if you go ahead and buy from this guy.
I do rescue, and I am the one who deals with this guys "products" when things go south with the pups they sell.

I AM BEGGING YOU TO PLEASE RECONSIDER BUYING THIS PUPPY...
PLEASE SEE MY WEBSITE FOR MORE EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION ON PUPPYMILLS AND YORKIES IN GENERAL.

I'll even try to help you get a pup from a responsible ETHICAL breeder.

Yorkies Poodles and MORE? No way hunnie that rings so many bells and I haven't even looked at his website. I hate this for you but please pull out of this!!!! You will be so much more happy in the long run!

Please do not buy from him, I am begging you. I will personally help you find a good breeder, or whatever you want help with...There is so much good information on this site and I am so glad you found us. I hope just in time. Please keep us updated on your decision. No one here means to hurt your feelings, just want to save you from heartache, and save you from contributing to puppy mills. There are many people here (including myself) who have gotten a dog from a puppy mill or backyard breeder who didn't know any better but regret ever supporting that kind of 'business'.

If there is anything I or we can do to help you...even calling that jerk, pretending to be you, canceling, whatever it is.

Your YT family is amazingly supportive, and there are many shoulder to lean on through this process, but I just hope you have a chance to get out now!

I agree with the previous posters and as a side note if you scroll down on his homepage he says he sells bengal cats and then he has a picture of a leopard. what is up with that???

I would avoid him at ALL COSTS!

He says on one page that he breeds yorkies, poodles, and boxers.

And breeding dogs under 3 pounds?

He is out to make money...I can assure you the "health" of his dogs mean nothing...

He's a puppy miller...through and through...

i would take any chances, jmo. as a buyer you want to feel comfortable with the breeder, i think your gut is telling you no. you should listen

Please dont get the puppy from him. I can refer you to an awesome breeder in la where i got my tsubi from. Please dont support puppy mills.

i mean, i went to his house and everything.... the house looked clean.. but i got so excited that i didnt stay alert and level-headed.. i should of requested to see where she stays. i saw her mother but it was quick bc he thought she would get angry seeing her puppys. they even talked about puppy mills and ppl who dont take care of their babies... UGH
everytime i read replies on YT about my posts, i just start crying bc everything everyone is saying is so negative and something i should of saw first. now im stuck between you guys and my bf who says that im overreacting and everythings fine. i keep telling him its like 30 to 1 here! and that maybe something IS wrong.
supposedly the day before i emailed him asking if he could send me pics he brought her to the vet for shots. he was emailing me back and forth the wholoe day.... when the two days pasted, i asked him if he could also test for liver shunt.. no reply, no pictures, no nothing.

I live in Valparaiso, what vet did he take this dog to? Get the vet's name and look up the phone number and call the vets office and ask about the puppy and ask about the breeder. You said you went to the breeders house, can you reveal his/her address? I try to keep track of the breeders in NW Indiana and South Suburbs of Illinois so that I can refer people and I have never heard of this person. How much of a deposit did you put down? Is there any contract that you signed? If not, you may be able to get your deposit back if the breeder does not check out, or you can file a complaint.

Probably none of my business, but Baron, I think she (as well as the breeder) are in Louisiana? :)

Aww hun, don't beat yourself up over it. You did the right thing by coming here and asking and you are doing your research. I know it must be heartbreaking for you, but I am telling you....this heartbreak will not hurt as bad as the one you feel if you get a sick puppy :( I am sure these are not the responses you were hoping for, but now you have them and your going to have to decide for yourself where to go from here. YT er's would not lead you in the wrong direction. We are here to help you and your search of finding the perfect HEALTHY, NO RISK Yorkie baby! You won't find a more caring group of people when it comes to Yorkies then here. Have you checked the for sale section here on YT? Maybe there is the perfect pup waiting for you in it ;)
If your seeing the red flags that have been pointed out then I am sure you will make the right decision. I see that there are some people who are offering to help you in your search....pm them and let them help you!!

Yep, sorry, I didn't catch the LA the first time I read, just seen the Hammond. Still, she can do the same things about contacting the vet and asking about a reference

I'm sorry that it upset you. No one is saying anything bad about you. We just want to make sure that you have a good experience with your new puppy. Yes, people may bash BYB's or puppy mills, but this isn't against you in the slightest! I hope this all works out for you. We are here to help, not hurt you.

Hun, don't feel bad. Guess what I did my first time out. I bought from a pet shop many years ago when my children were very young. You went to a breeder with a clean house. You did alot better than me. We have seen alot of heartache from people who got into scams and who are breeding dogs too small and too often and in all the posts it was mostly just to let you know that to BEWARE. You must be so confused as to what to do......if you didn't make too lg. a deposit it might be easier but I doubt very much that he would give it back. Let us know what you decide and we will help. Hey...my name is Kelli Hendricks. Okay all these people that are telling you these horrible things about Mr. Ed LeRay...they don't know him..and they shouldn't be telling you these things about him, when they don't know anything about what he does. I am a PROUD owner of a Yorkie that I purchased from Mr. LeRay about 7 months ago. From the time that I purchased her until now, she has NOT had ONE single problem..not a cold, not a worm...NOTHING...she was always healthy, and my veterinarian...you can call him if you want...Dr. James Rumore Rayne, LA 337-334-9631 or 337-334-9632...He said I picked out a VERY nice dog..I couldnt have done better. She has a beautiful coat and a GREAT temperment!!! She weighs 3 lbs. and she is 10 months old. SHe listens and she is potty trained...I can't tell you how great of a dog she is...if you dont believe me you can call my vet like I said...tell him my name Kelli Hendricks and you can ask him about my Yorkie...he'll tell you how great she is...the groomers, Amanda and Susan Tate groom her there also if you want to talk to them about her. The only problem I had with Mr. LeRay was that the AKC papers took a while to come in...but I got them and we have no other problems since then. Totally agree with the puppy mill, all signs are pointing that direction. PLEASE don't do it. If you need a recommendation on a terrific breeder in the south, we got our little guy from a wonderful breeder (in Texas). Their kennels are impeccably clean, they socialize the little puppies, vaccinate them, microchip them, all dogs come with AKC papers, a health guarantee, etc....
