I agree with all of what you said. I myself would NEVER deal with anyone that had even the slightest abuse charge on them. Seriously that aint cool.

that's so true - keep your hearts AND your money safe ...and tell anyone you know what a bad person/site the Wizard of Claws is - If anyone knows someone thinking of buying from them - WARN them.

I didnt read through this whole thing but who in their right mind would stick up for a place like that. I have heard of wizard of claws through my daughter and soon to be daughter in law and I can not believe that some one here would actually stand up for a place like that.

Everyone knows that celebrities purchase things because of what they cost. I mean come on. For example (in a car guy) most of them drive land rovers. land rovers are ugly. you can get a really nifty navigator or escalade for 1/2 the cost of a land rover. its the $$$$ signs they look at. So if there is a dog that has a high price of course they think its better.

I was reading this thread and just went to "google" and typed in "Wizard of Claws Lawsuit" and they are listed one after another after another after another. I didn't really notice anyone sticking up for them. Apparently a lot of very sick dogs have come from from there.

this is where they're being defended - Saying there must be 'something else' to the story is being way too nice about these people - the story is they are bad news and Celebrities buying dogs from them doesn't make them a good site -

Actually it just proves that people will put their money down foolishly if the think they're getting something "other' people don't have...which in this case could very well be a sick or average puppy ...skillfully marketed. anyone who researches the Seller (in this case Wizard of Claws) would see right away that they are trouble for puppies and the people who are looking for one.

Unfortunately, there will always be someone of like character who will support and take up for them. I cannot, no matter how I try to, understand why..but, they do.. Maybe they have just chosen role-models unwisely or something.

I've never heard of Wizard of Claws before this thread but boy, that dog does look sickly. Looks like a pom/maltese mix to me. No way is that a yorkie, doesn't even look like a yorkie mix. From reading what Villette has said, there's no way I'd buy anything from them :thumbdown

Please stay away from Wizzard of Claws. They have a had a horrible repuation for a very long time. Villette was right..just because someone is famous doesn't mean the are bright. Always research any breeder or kennel that you may be intrested in..when you get lots of negative hits on a breeder it's a pretty good indicator that people have issues or complaints against the kennel and it's a good red flag to consumer that it's a huge gamble to buy from them. You can visit any dog forum & get the same advice and it's... stay away from Wizard of Claws!

You are misquoting me and I NEVER STOOD UP FOR OR DEFENDED WIZARD OF CLAWS so please do not infer that I did. Julz is right and I do not appreciate you misrepresenting what I said and twisting my words by not printing everything I said. You have done this with pet stores, puppymills and now this broker and it is WRONG. You should know by now that I investigate and research thoroughly. I don't just believe what I read in one place. I know from the internet that there was a lawsuit filed in 2003 but i couldn't find how that lawsuti ended and I couldn't find the evidence of her arrest for cruelty.

I asked you for your source because I could not find it. I certainly believe you when you say she was arrested for cruelty because I know you wouldn't post something as serious as that if it wasn't true. My intention was to see what came of the all the lawsuits and the arrest and see what is keeping them from being shut down as they should be!

The comment about celebrity clients was a point of fact only and I was going to make the connection that maybe there is a celebrity who purchased a sick puppy from them who could bring media attention to thei shorrible place and help get it closed down once and for all. :thumbdown

I know you will appreciate the info I uncovered and I know you will want to be as accurate and well-informed as possible on this issue. I am not doing this to defend WOC (as I have seen it referred to on other dog forums)since I totally agree that based on my research they are bad news.

That said, and purely for the sake of accuracy, I did the same search and what you actually saw was one site after another all talking about the same lawsuit. I might be wrong but there is a female attorney in Florida who represented 6 customers in a class action suit against WOC in 2003. It got a lot of press at that time and they conducted a protest that was also covered by the media so there was a lot of talk about it on a lot of forums and other websites which now show up when the search is done. I will contact her office in the morning and inquire as to the status of the case and I will also ask about any other lawsuits agaisnt them as well as any arrests for animal cruelty and I will post my findings.
