My other 2 dogs never had a crate but i thought i give it try with snickers.. And i must admit it heps very good,. when i go out for grocery he is in his crate and he sleeps ,. he dont wine or whatever.. In the night the crate is next to my bed and he knows when its bed time he goes in, he is very excited when he goes in, cause he knows he gets a cookie. :) But i thnk ts wonderfull when he is in, its his safety place and he knows when i go to work he is quiet in his crate,.. so i think its good, i have a middle size crate, so he can move etc... i never give his food or water in the crate and he never peed or pooped in it lucky. But i do give him a bone sometimes and a cookie when he goes in. :) I will make a photo this weekend of the crate so you can see mine. |
Do you only put his basket .. ( i dont know how you call that in english) in it.. or you put blankets in it too ?? or does he pee or poops in the other area? Quote:

We have the smaller crate but I got it to help potty train Jamie so it needed to be small so that he couldn't potty in it and still have clean room to lay down. As long as your baby is happy and not pottying in the crate then I think its fine. |
2 Attachment(s) Abby has a pretty small crate. I think its perfect cuz her bed fits in there to the teeeeeeee. She only goes in there wen shes playin w her chew stix or wen its time to take a nap or nite nite. Even when my mom turns on the blender or something that makes noise, she runs to the noise looks at it n tilts her head (i loooove that) n then she'll run back to her bed. She only pooped in there twice wen i just got her but never again. I guess she has learned not to go potty there n its where she goes to feel safe. However, at night i leave the crate open with a wee wee pad across from it against the wall. But only cuz i leave the door closed (cant sleep w open doors) She will usually get up in the middle of the night or morning n pee n then go back to bed. At my b/f house she only has her other bed n pad across but no crate. She knows she cant potty in the bed. Attachment 220631 This one is wen i just got her n u c how the bed fits exactly on the crate (bad quality cuz i took a pic from my cam to my iphone n uploaded it here) Attachment 220632 This is her now n u c how much she's grown but the bed is perfect. |

Ha! That's exactly how it started with me. I would let my pup out of the crate and he would come into bed with me around 5 or 6am. Then gradually it became more and more, especially since he loved the snuggles he got and the bed was so cozy. I would bet that sooner than later your little puppy is going to be sleeping the entire night with you in your bed....not just cuz the puppy wants to but because you will want her to also. Keep me posted....:animal36 |

Well I think it is fine, she has room for her bed and toys and a food and water dish and a puppy pad if needed. I just have one question, where's the tray that slides in the bottom? Lol. All our have trays in them. Didn't yours come with one? |
