I'm a terrible mother to Elvis How many of you step on your baby...regularly? It seems Elvis is always just in my path or shall I say underfoot? especially if I step backwards, I nail him every time and I feel so horribly about it. I've even run over him with my desk chair, yikes! |
i only did that when lexi was small, now i dont step on her as much,, dont know why,, |
I've done it once so far. It scared me more than Lily I think... everybody I talked to made it seem like she would be instantly dead if I stepped on her, but she recovered in about 2 seconds. ;) Me, not so much--more like 2 hours! Definitely more careful now when taking a step backwards!! |
If you get a kitty collar with a bell it helps remind you they are there. |
The bell works wonders. I also think they get more coordinated or learn how to walk under our feet as they get older. I could be wrong...but I stepped on both my kids all the time when they were babies, now almost never. Though sometimes, I still almost fall over and give myself a concussion avoiding their pawsies!!! |
I stepped on mine when they were little then I learned how to do the yorkie shuffle. I never step on them now that they are older. They dont seem to run under your feet |
I can't tell you how many times I've fallen to avoid stepping on Jake! |

you're not a terrible mother...my baby is 2 1/2 and she still finds her way under my feet...we don't wear shoes in the house and she wears bells...lol that works! |
you gotta learn the yorkie shuffle.. just never pick up your feet! LOL |
Tricksie is under foot all of time and I am paranoid. My friend stepped on her Yorkie and killed it. I just walk slowly and keep an eye on her. |
awww....sweet babies just don't want us out of their site! I know how you feel. I think I will try the cat quick release collar w/bell, although Bella hates collars? I've almost shut the bathroom door on Bella many times. She will be in another room sleeping & I will enter the bathroom, shut the door, & all of a sudden this flash will enter.....never know how she can get there that fast??:p sooooo......most of the time I will have company. Sometimes, I will hear this scratch @the door if I've left her out. lol |
LOL, the yorkie shuffle comments are perfect! I never thought about that! I feel better now that I know others have the same problem with under foot yorkies. At least they always forgive you and still love you...thank goodness for their sweet little hearts!:) |
I used to step on Lulu when she was smaller. Now that she is a little bigger, it's not so often but I still have to do the yorkie shuffle. and the bell doesn't work all the time, especially if she just plops herself in front of my feet and doesn't make herself known... |
BELLS are the answer.......almost stepped and sat on KiKi numerous times...now the bell on her collar...lets everyone know where she is.... |
