I work at a lumber store, much like Lowes and dogs are welcome..there's really no reason to leave them outside. I just got home from work and all was well today.:D ~Denise |
OMG! It is WAAAAY too hot to leave a dog in the car during the day in Texas!! It is almost 90 degrees here!! People are so stupid! If it is too hot in a car for a person, then it is too hot in a car for a dog too! |

That is awesome! |
I'm glad the little guy was okay. Where I am you arn't even allowed to leave your dog in the car at any time. But them again it is usually hot here year around.(Palm Springs area) I get so mad when I see dogs left in the car, even 5 minutes in 100 and something weather can be deadly especially with these little ones. |

and that cop too - nice to hear a good cop story - I'm in texas too and just can't imagine ANY dog in ANY car in this heat :( what a jerk that guy was for doing that ....and too bad the cop didn't at least write him a ticket - I think they should because that'll make these people think next time they leave a poor defensless dog in a freakin oven to bake. |
Good for you! So many people would just have ignored that little dog's plea for help. |
We have 2 officers in our family. You would be suprised at the number of complaints they get from people who were doing something wrong to start with... and they got caught. Leaving a baby or a dog in a car is just plain Wrong!! But you would be suprised by the amount of people who do. Maybe with you and the officer standing there.. and getting a warning.. this person will think twice before doing it again. GOOD FOR YOU! I don't like dogs to be in the back of a truck either. Besides being hot on their feet.. there is a chance of them falling out and getting injured or killed. I saw that once, when we were on vacation. It is not something I ever want to see again. Poor baby. |

leave your dog at home unless you leave the air running in the car.. just not smart.. what if you get hurt or delayed.. your dog could die within 5-10 minutes |
I would never, never, never leave Conner in the car. If he cannot go in, he stays home. I would be so afraid of someone taking him. You hear of so many yorkies being stolen lately that it makes you want to put an alarm on your dog. |
Good for you Denise!!! Atta girl! These little creatures don't have anyone to talk for them. He should have been arrested! Or locked in a hot car like that for an hour, see how he would like it:thumbup: |

But I totally agree that if it's way hot and they are left in there for a long time thats not ok, and good job for saying something. |
I have called the police after seeing a dog in the car a couple of times and waited for the owner to show up...( the store- a Walmart in Arizona) said they couldn't get involved, so I called 911 and gave them the license plate and waited ..I even got in my car to see how hot it felt to me !..It was 80 degrees outside , but inside a care it can get at least 20 degrees hotter....The owner told me to mind my own business...His dog kept going from the front seat to the back window....I waited 12 minutes ... I believe this state (only been here 3 yrs) has a law that you can't leave a dog in a car and also (I will find out) that if there is a dog in the car and it seems like it's suffering, you CAN break the window....(again, someone told me this and I will find out) An animal thinks it's going to the park !! NOT TO SIT IN A HOT CAR.... Are people that stupid? ??????:thumbdown:mad::thumbdown:mad: |
its illegal here I am pretty positive that leaving a dog/kid in a car the summer (when it is higher than a certain temp.) is illegal even if you think it's only going to be a minute. It is also illegal to have them ride in the bed of your truck unless they are in a crate or their feet are protected from the HOT metal. I know in past summers animal control has seized animals left in a car and the owners were ticketed and were unable to get their animals back. Both the police and animal control seem to take it pretty seriously here, which is a good thing. . |
