when should breeder supply AKC papers It's going on 7 weeks of stories and excuses about my AKC papers. What is a reasonable length of time to give a breeder to come up with valid paperwork after selling a dog? |
What does your contract say? Was your dog sold to you as a pet on limited registration and you must provide paperwork that the spay/neuter was done? Was your dog sold to you with full breeding rights? |
There was no actual written contract, everything agreed to over the phone and email. The 2 dogs were for show and breeding and there's a lot of money involved. I'm having trouble getting the papers---first a list of excuses, then incomplete and unsigned forms. I've been working on it for over 6 weeks. When is a reasonable time to start complaining publicly about it? What is customary? This person is a stranger to me, so it's not a matter of a sloppy friend taking advantage or anything like that. |
From what I understand they are supposed to supply the AKC papers then and there when you get the dog. That's when I got my papers for Duke and that is what I have read on the AKC site |
I have never heard of anyone selling a dog for show or breeding and not having a contract. What reasons is the breeder giving for not supplying the papers? ETA: I got my papers when I picked up my boys. |
you already posted a review of your breeder in the review forum and she has posted a rebuttal. Why are you on this forum now. It appears that the whole paper mix up has been your fault not understanding how to register foriegn dogs and you also haven't mentioned here how you have already bred the two dogs in question without even getting papers. You need to let this drop. from what I have seen on the other forum, your breeder is an honest caring person with a great breeder reputation so why bring it to this forum after you posted it in the other forum. have you not read the posts over there under your thread? i don't personally know your breeder but do know of her and her outstanding reputation. I also know how frustrating it is to try to register fforiegn dogs. You need to cooperate with her in getting this matter resolved. She has bent over backwards to try to help. No need to reply to me because I want be on this thread anymore. i only posted because i know what you have done and how the breeder posted in response to you. You were asked to cease and desist on this matter already.. i know a person on here that called Toni after seeing your complaint and Toni stayed online with her and helped her register her puppy right then. No problem at all. i do hope you will listen to those that are trying to help you with the registration. |
Here is the link to the breeders answer to these accusations being made. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...ledbetter.html |
You'd be surprised how casual people are about contracts sometimes. This was the purchase of two imported dogs the seller decided didn't fit her breeding plans after all. I wired the money, the dogs came within a few days with the promise AKC papers would follow. Then there was a delay because the papers were with someone else, who turns out to be some third party I didn't know one of the dogs was registered to. Finally some papers arrive during week 4, but are incomplete and missing signatures. More papers come in week 5, also missing a signature. This is week 6 and I've sent imcomplete papers and a letter to the AKC begging them to go with what I have. Now I have posted a complaint in the Breeder Review section and all her friends are going on there and attacking me for not waiting long enough for this mess to clear up. |

Thanks for posting that. I certainly won't waste anymore time on this thread. |

This thread should be closed like the other one was. No need for anything to get nasty out here in general discussions. It's a holiday weekend, have fun everyone! |
