Tired of Teacups? How about a Mug?? Since there really isn't anything as a so called Teacup. But everyone uses that term. I thought I would satrt a NEW Term for my dog.. and the others out there that are a bit bigger!!How about a Yorkie Mug!! She is still as beautiful as a standard yorkie, But there is MORE TO LOVE!! :p |
HAHAHAHA.......now that is a cute idea. I wonder how wierd people would look at you if you started calling you dog a Mug Yorkie. LOL |
i like that idea. lolololololololololololol very funny!!!!! |
I like the idea too!!!! |
I like it too! And for the super sized Yorkie, they could be called a "Bucket Yorkie" LOL :D |
Because Codie is 8 lbs, my mom always calls him a teaPOT! :D |
1 Attachment(s) LOL heres a pic of a mug yorkie :D its my Chanel :p |
Yeah, what ABOUT that, huh?! :p The thing is, "teacups" in most people's minds, are not the exception where yorkies are concerned, they're the rule. Whenever I go to PetSmart, etc., people comment to me "Woah, you have a BIG yorkie!" "I reply, no, no not really. He's AKC breed standard." - well, then that confuses people and they sqench their face and look at me confused. I had to explain to a lady yesterday how some breeders are breeding them smaller and smaller so they can jack up the prices...and though they may be cute, they have lots of health problems, etc. And THEN I explained what the AKC looks for in a show yorkie. By this time the person was annoyed with hearing more Yorkie info. from me than they wanted to know. But that's not fair for her to say "woah, you have a BIG yorkie!" SULLY IS A NORMAL YORKIE, PEOPLE GET IT IN YOUR HEADS STRAIGHT! |
OMG is that a CUTE photo!!!!!!!!! |

i have a bucket yorkie |
Yeah, I guess I do too. I couldn't squish Tiah into a mug if I tried. She would fit comfortably in a bucket though :D |
Pita's 4 pounds, small compared to other dogs but not a tiny yorkie, Somebody asked me the other day if she was a miniature??? I had no idea how to respond to that, I just said she's within breed standard although on the light end. It's hard to explain to people that yorkies just come in different shapes and sizes, like people! |
LOL! I used to call Tuffy my Big Gulp Maltese since he's a whooping 7 pounds. :p |
1 Attachment(s) Here is Kodah's "MUG" shot when she was 12 weeks old - weighing less than a pound at the time. She is now now a whopping 2 lbs at 6 mo. She's still tiny but no way would her body fit in that mug now!! |
Hahaha, a mug yorkie!! How creative and adorable. I don't think Fred will fit in a mug, either, nevertheless a TEACUP! Perhaps.. we can make the name "Jug Yorkies" for those who can't fit in a teacup OR a mug! :p |
My giant is gonna be a barrell yorkie (already 5 lbs @ 10wks), but everyone in my town comments how tiny he his. I wonder what they would do if they ever saw an actual teacup or mug yorkie. |
Some sugar with that Yorkie Quote:
LOL...omg...that is the cutest picture. How did you possibly find an outfit that small to fit Chanel? hahaha Francie |
I didn't mean a yorkie that could actually fit into a MUG, I just meant if your yorkie was a bit bigger that the standard weight (7lbs) than that yorkie would be a mug. WE have tinies that they call teacup (under 4lbs), then the standard (4-7lbs) and then others 7.5lbs and bigger) My Bell is a mug becasue she is 8.2 lbs.. |
my rosie weighs 61/2lb would she be a mug? yorkie or a kettle yorkie,i just cant make my mind up ha ha ha. what do you all say if our babies weigh up to 6lb there a mug yorkie over that and there a kettle wouldnt that be funny when people ask "what yorkie do you have" oh i have a kettle yorkie id reply then look at there faces tp see there response. wendy and rosie :rose: :yorkiesar |

mine are the mcdonalds super size if we are looking at actually fitting them in a cup,he is 4.6 lbs and she is 4.2lbs,yet I can assure you all that to cram them in a drink container maby a gallon milk comtainer is the better option, maybe we should go fo pint sice quart size and half gallon and gallon,we all know how milk comes |
Does milk come in 5 or 10 gallon sizes cause that may be how big I need to get to fit him in it when gets full grown. |

OMG she's darling!!! :D |
I was driving yesterday and came to a light and stopped. The couple in the car next to me were looking at Deegan in his booster seat and asked me if he was a Yorkie and I said yes, and they asked how old he was and I told them "almost 15 weeks". So their reply to that was "Oh, so he's a teacup?" Deegan is almost 15 wks, and weighs in at about 4-4.5lbs. I hardly think that he's a teacup, especially seeing how he's not finished growing yet. I just said "no, he's not". And that was the end of that. But I really do hate when people who don't know what they are talking about open their mouths. I have really come to hate the term "teacup" because there really is no such thing, and it's frustrating to explain this to people who don't know anything about Yorkies, but think that they do. |

LOL im glad some of you enjoyed the pic, i thought it suited this topic quite well ;) The first few weeks Chanel wore really tiny doll's clothing :D |
I call them tea pots! But a mug is cute! |
Ok, then teapot it is!! Definition of a teapot yorkie: A prue breed yorkie that is over the standard size of 7 lbs.. They could start charging a lot of money for these yorkies, it will be quite a faze! Glad I got mine early!! :p |
Well, I guess that leaves me owning 2 teacups 2 teapots and one bucket. ROTFLMAO |
