I was away from my boys for a week and they were fine :) It was me who was not fine! I was soooooo sad by day 3 I cried... by day 6 (thank god it was almost over) I was SERIOUSLY depressed! I needed to get home to them! I couldn't wait another minute! LOL Next time I went away... I took them! :) (how pathetic is that???) |

I know I have never left mine even for overnight. But my husband wants to go away soon and I told him I may be able to go for 2 days and a night to see how they do. One problem I have is I have 4 and it's hard to leave that many. My 22 year old dtr lives at home but I don't know how good she would be. She won't pick up poo, God help her when/if she ever gets out on her own. I would probably have my sister check on them during the day. The other thing is 2 of them are on medications. |
Ive left Chewy with my parents and called them from mexico every single night. They didnt tell me while i was away because they didnt want to upset me but she was relly missing me. She layed on the door mat most of the day and didnt eat. She knew it was me calling every nigt and barked. They said she was visibly sad but when I came home it was non stop kisses and jumping for like 10 minutes straight. i was so overwhelmed! She even peed when she saw me!!!! I hate leaving her but i know shell be fine with my parents and shell be extra excited when i get back.I think they all deal differently though as other have mentioned. Some dogs are fine after they get used to it for a little while. |
Thanks everyone. Peeka eats when its 'human' food, Ie, fruit, scrambled eggs, noodles etc. But its me that makes him eat his doggie food. He's going to have way too much fun while I'm gone. |
When I would leave Rockie with Lisa he never wanted to come back home, it's so much fun at her house with the other dogs and all. |
I am having anxiety about going to Europe for 2 weeks. Park will stay with my parents, but always on a leash, since their yard has holes on the fence. He loves to run around our yard at home, so i just hope he won't be too sad. We think he knows something is up. We have been taking him to visit my mom and dad to get him used to being there. |
we bought an RV!!! ;) Just so they can go with us everywhere. |
I only had to leave once since we have had Seth and Sasha, Columbus for training 3 days. It was terrible. I called on every break to see if they were ok. Jack finally said "enough" I am their Dad and I know how to take care of them. I was alot worse then Seth and Sasha. :D |
I'm so fortunate that I never have to leave my boys alone. When I'm working (off on sick leave now), I work eves and my hubby works days. So, they always have one of us here. If we're going to be gone all day and can't take them, my daughter watches them for us.:) I have had to be in the hospital a few times, and it was very hard on Jake especially. My daughter took care of him, but she said he seemed sad a lot. But, as long as they are with someone who will spend time with them and take good care of them, they are ok...they just miss us when we're not there. I left a shirt with my scent on it, and she said Jake slept with it when he napped and at night. You might try something like that. Have a great vacation! |
i recently left Kash with my bf for about 5 days... and he was fine when i returned. he didn't forget me, and he was super excited to see me when i got back. however, i think i'm going to have to leave Kash with my bf again, but for 10 days this time!! i'm not too worried about the leaving him part because i know my bf will take good care of him. i'm more worried that Kash will start to like my bf more than me!! lol. they'll use the time to bond with each other, and i'm afraid that when i get back, Kash will have disowned me as his mom! i know it sounds crazy, but i seriously worry about Kash loving me less than he loves my bf. i guess i don't have a choice if i really really want to go on vacation to see my family. :( i could take him with me on the plane, but i just can\'t afford it! and i could drive, but the trip is 13 hours... and that\'s only if i don\'t stop at all, which is impossible. :( |
don\'t worry I worried so much about Parker, but I just got back from seeing my daughter and grandson in Germany, and now everything is back to normal! He stayed with my mom and dad, and I went straight there to get him at midnight when my flight arrived! |
