Hi and congrats on your puppy. I have brought puppies home with food from the breeder and my puppies would refuse to eat it. I changed their food and they started to eat. Don't know if this will help, but has been my experience. Juliet |
Perhaps the stress of a new home has made him tired. Also, he would be more tired if he has recently had shots. Keep a close eye on him. I gave my baby kayro syrup once for the same reason...just to make sure. It did perk her up enough that I felt she was more normal. A new home is more stressful for a little baby than we realize, I think. |
Did you try some of these suggestions?? How are things going today? I feed Innova. I'm not familiar with authority. |
reason learned coccidiosis 1 Attachment(s) Well, a few days after I first posted this Alastor had bloody poo. I thought perhaps it was parvo so freaked and took him to the vet. I wasn't, thank god, but he did have coccidia. He had to, and still has to, take lots of meds and he has improved. He must have picked up at his breeders or on a walk etc. I am just glad I was paranoid and kept on top of him otherwise it could have ended badly had I not noticed something was wrong before his body was to damaged. According to wikipedia "Coccidiosis is the disease caused by coccidian infection. Coccidiosis is a parasitic disease of the intestinal tract of animals, caused by coccidian protozoa. The disease spreads from one animal to another by contact with infected feces, or ingestion of infected tissue. Diarrhea, which may become bloody in severe cases, is the primary symptom. Most animals infected with coccidia are asymptomatic; however, young or immuno-compromised animals may suffer severe symptoms, including death." Thank you, to everyone for giving great advise and just listening to my worries. |

Welcome to YT! I agree that you should take him to the vet to get his blood tested. It is not totally unusual for a yorkie to sleep alot. My yorkie will sleep all day long if I let her, but she also will play all day long if I want her too. It does concern me that Alastor is sleeping alot even when you do not want him to. I would take him to the vet, just to be sure! Alot of sleep although is one yorkie trait. |
