Donating YT 30K Club Member | Red is cottony Pixie is silky and eyes reflect green, Roxie is a puppy and reflects blue but her coat is kind of in between cotton and silk.

| Puppies eyes will always reflect blue. It's commonly believed that dogs with a red/yellow glow have a cottony coat and that dogs that have a green glow have a silky coat, but there are always exceptions. I think that rumor was perpetuated by a show breeder.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I don't know about it being a rumor necessarily. I know every yorkie that I've ever known to have green eye shine has had a silky coat. Now, with amber eye shine, I think you can have varying degrees of silk to soft, so maybe that's where the exceptions are.

| Sorry that was a typo.. I meant to say that I'd HEARD it was a rumor perpetuated by a show breeder. Thanks for the correction.

Sorry, I didn't mean to come off as corrective. I thought the eye shine test was true. Although, Ruby does have more of an amber eye shine and is a silky coat, so I knew there were exceptions to the rule.
