PLEASE HELP find Spice!! My cousins Yorkie lost in California!
 

Calling all people who live in or around the MONTECITO/SANTA BARBARA CALIFORNIA AREA... my cousins Yorkie Spice has gone missing in Montecito California as of Thursday May 1st. She and her husband and their 4 children are all beside themselves. They have had Spice for many years (he is 9 years old) and he is/was apart of their family :cry:

She let him outside in the backyard to go potty and when she went out to get him, he was gone - nowhere to be seen. Her backyard overlooks the golf course and she and her hubby and kids all went over to the golf course and looked EVERYWHERE for him and couldn't find him. They drove around everywhere....couldn't find him :cry: They are in hysterics.

The bad part is, they had a vacation planned to Mexico and it was already paid for, so they had to leave yesterday. They DID NOT want to go. She called crying from Mexico and none of them even want to be there. They all just want to go home. They want to find their baby :cry:

Their maid that lives in part of their house is still there and she will be waiting by the phone to see if anyone calls about him. They printed out flyers with his pictures and put them out everywhere. They even gave some to the UPS man (who Spice always loved to bark at :() so that he could put them up all over town as well. And of course they put an ad in the paper. They called the shelters there and no one has him.

Here is the information: Spice is a 9 year old neutered male Yorkie that is Silver in color with a Tan head. He weighs around 5 lbs, maybe a little more. Spice DOES NOT like men so it is unlikely that a man took him (if someone taking him is what happened). He also answers to "Foofer" which is a nickname they had for him. He went missing on Thursday May 1st in the Montecito, California area. There are a few pictures of Spice below.

If you live in the Montecito or Santa Barbara, CA area, PLEASE keep your eyes and ears peeled for Spice. They DESPERATELY want to bring him home! If anyone happens to see him, or knows someone that has, PLEASE PM me RIGHT AWAY and I will get the information sent over to my cousin and her maid since she is at their home waiting for any information one might have. I understand that this might be a long shot, but I promised them that I would post about it anyway as I know that there are many here that are in California.

Here are three pictures of Spice. The first one was just taken about a week before he went missing. It was taken right after he was groomed so this is his most current picture and is what he would look like right now, unless someone that got him just totally shaved all his hair off. The other two pictures are pictures that are a little older, and he wasn't groomed in them but this is NOT what his hair would look like right now. P.S. - Excuse the picture of him in girly clothes...the kids put him in pink.

PLEASE.....HELP BRING HIM HOME!!! :cry:

OMG! How sad. I am sending prayers their way and hoping for a safe return. Poor baby and poor family. Hope he returns home soon.

Oh goodness, I really hope that someone finds Spice and returns him so that they have a very happy homecoming. I'll be praying for the family. I wish I could be more help.......

Oh it's my cousin, but thanks Kyle :( This is really so devastating for their entire family. They have had him for so long....he slept on the bed with them every single night...he is/was just like one of their babies :cry:

Unfortunately, he isn't microchipped :( I wasn't sure if he was at first, so this is one of the very first things I asked.

I am going to post on Craigslist soon. I had asked if they did that but I guess they were just in such hysterics that they didn't even get around to doing it before they left. Thank goodness they did get a bunch of flyers printed out though, and also got an ad posted in the paper.

Prayers for Spice to come home safe. Brooke, if you haven't read thru the How to find a lost yorkie sticky -- do it right away, lots of good ideas in there, plus go online and google lost dog - there are a lot of sites you can add your listing to. Aslo, I would think someone with a dogster acct could help you get the word out.

I am sending prayers their way, that Spice will be found and returned. I wonder if perhaps a golfer picked him up, and turned him over to Animal Control or the Humane Society? :confused:

What a sad story. I'm so sorry for your cousin and her family and for little Spice! I will be praying for his safe return. How heartbreaking.

Brooke~ don't know if someone has told you yet or not, (sorry, no time to read everything cuz I'm s'posed to be shopping for and cooking dinner)....not only Craigslist, but petfinder.com and fidofinder.com....if you have a picture it would be great....it really helps. Good luck, this makes me so sad, I can only imagine what they're feeling right now...having to be gone. I'd be sick!

That's just hearbreaking. I'm sending prayers for the safe return of Spice. I hope some of our YT people from that area can get involved posting flyers or whatever. I can't imagine how painful that is for the family. Keep us posted, please!!

This is just horrible. I pray for Spice's (Foofer) safe return. I'm in L.A. county, a bit far, but you never know. I've heard of a Yorkie being at the animal shelter before, but luckily the family found him there after about a week. Keep checking the animal shelters. My heart aches for your family but I will remain hopeful. If there's anything I can do, do not hesitate to contact me. I'm on YT often.

Oh my, he looks so sweet and tolerant of the children's adoration. I know they are heartbroken, but praying that this story will have a happy ending!!!!

oh my gosh how terrible! I will be praying that this poor baby will be safely found and returned soon...I can't imagine how this must feel.
