You have two handsome boys. Bravo Troy for defending your brother. Like you, I always tell my son I dont want him fighting only if necessary, but I always tell him to try to avoid it.Thank god , the only fight he ever had was in the second grade when he was defending himself from a bully. My son is a good kid, the only problems I have with him is that his a bit lazy and I have to be in top of him to do his homework cause he always want to play basketball or videogames. My son is very friendly and respectful. |

I can really relate to this as I am somewhat harsh with my kids also. I tell my kids the brutal truth. I expect them to do the same for me. My kids are very respectful of people and very respectful of animals. They do as they are asked and do well in school so they are rewarded for that. They too know that I will always have thier back so to say. |
It must be that age..my dughter was having problems too at school, but before they came to blows the other girl moved away. My husband decided to put her in a Karate class. He swore it was just to make her realize that it was ok to defend yourself. (She quit..."it just isn't right to hurt people") She still won't stick up for herself and I don't know what to do for her. She says she feels sorry for people like that, and fighting with them only makes them feel worse. I know she's right, but she needs to learn to do something about it. I'm glad your daughter stuck up for herself. That always seems to boost their self confidence. |
Here is a pic of each of my boys. Austin is the light blond haired one, he is almost 12 and Troy is the other one that has guilty written all over his face. Guilty for what? I dont know but im sure he did something.[/QUOTE] I know that face! Don't you just love it!! There is just something special about little boys...................and the way mommy feels about them. Mine are 23 & 18 and when I looke at them, I still see that little boy face. |

She's nine. She grew up way to early for me. She had cancer when she was 3 and ever since she's got quite the philosophy of life. That was when she was teased the worst, I felt terrible. All I wanted to do was yell at the parents for being stupid and letting their kids be so mean and she kept telling me that it was ok, she was different from the other kids and she could deal with it. |

Even though the older one is bigger than me and the younger one will soon be bigger than me they will always be just as precious to me as the day they were born. And I think I will forever see that little boy face on them too. |
Wow, what a story that was.. I have 4 children.. When my oldest daughter was this age she had a similar situation going on in school... This bully girl would push her, trip her and just in general be intentionally Mean!! One day while they were heading for lunch and after dealing with her for quite some time it finally came to a head.. My daughter was a tiny little thing compared to this girl who out weighed her and was much taller as well.. Anyway... Heading to lunch this day the girl shoved my daughter into the brick wall and knocked her down.. Cassie (My Daughter) got up and punched her right in the nose.. It was amazing because the teacher gave me a call and told me all about it.. Even he was proud of my daughter finally standing up for herself.. The Bully never bothered her again.. Hugs to your daughter it must have taken alot to get her to stand up for herself.. Fighting is never an easy thing exspecially for sweet little girls like your daughter.. |
Good for Val! There comes a time when turning the other cheek just isn't enough sometimes!!! Girl bullies at that age...they're the worst! Your daughter is a very beautiful girl- I am sure there was a lot of jelousy on the part of the bully that caused her to bother your girl. Hopefully this will be the end of it and the bully will hopefully think twice about behaving this way anymore!! :D |
