I think my yorkie is codependent! I swear my baby can't do anything without me there with him! I go to the kitchen, he goes to the kitchen, I go to the bedroom, he goes to the bedroom. I sit on the chair, he wants to sit on the chair. lol He even won't stand in front of his food bowl and eat without dragging the food closer to me one bite at a time unless I'm standing near him! He's just a puppy so I'm hopping he'll grow out of this. Does your yorkie do this too? |
Yeeahhh. Zoey will only eat if I am in the kitchen. Wherever I go she goes unless the kids are eating something then she wants to be near them in hopes of getting something that drops. |
How old is your Yorkie? My Sophie is 12 weeks and very independent and has been since we brought her home 3 weeks ago. She does seek me out if I go upstairs or to the kitchen, but she isn't a little shadow like your furbaby is! |

Ozzy is almost 6 months ( wow that went fast!) and he follows me everywhere...shower...bathroom...across the room..:) |
I think boys are very possessive of their mammas and girls are a bit more independent. |
All my fur babies are like shadows. If I move they move too. If I leave a room they follow. There is no way to sneak around as with this many one is always on watch! :D |
I have to be careful when I get up out of the recliner chair to not step on him because he tends to lay right in front of my feet! |
Tucker still follows me around, but it's gotten a lot better. Lexie and Tucker play with each other so they are less dependent on me. Maybe you need another furbaby ;) |
The only thing Tricksie will do without my presence, is EAT. When I tell her that I have to go pottie, she beats me to the bathroom and stares at me. I think we are both co-dependent. |

Sal does the samething He must be in the same room that I am in all the time. He will follow me into the bathroom and even jump into the shower with me. I have to put him in a safe place so that I can get ready in the morning to take a walk. He is more than my shadow he thinks that I am his mate. My husband and I have to put him back down on the carpet so that we can sit together on the sofa if not he will push his way between us. Since he is 6 months old we hope that he will grow out of it soon. |
Mine are both like that also, they follow me from room to room. :p |

3 of my babies are shadows!! Brooke, and Baby & Bitsy my chihuahuas! I call Brooke "Boo" like the character in Monster's Inc. who was always sneaking up quietly on the monsters. I will be up late at night and Brooke will be sleeping in the bed, I will go into the kitchen to get some water and I turn around to go back to sleep and she will be standing there in the dark looking at me!! It is so sweet! She was very independent when I got her but after her illness and recovery she has been stuck like glue to me!! I think she knows that I saved her and is very grateful!! Sometimes, when we are in bed and all 3 pups are stuck to my legs my hubby says "How are your tumors?"!! I wouldn't have it any other way!! I love my little tumors!!:D |
Jewels is like that too. She follows me everywhere |

Lucy does the same thing and I hope she will never grow out of it :p |
Mine are almost 3 years old and still do that. They are never seperated from me and will only eat when Im there, always in the room with me, they have something against closed doors, including shower curtains (they whine when Im in the shower and will watch me with both paws on the ledge of the tub looking in!) LOL they don't stay in bed when I get up to pee in the middle of the night, they gotta follow. If they are sound asleep on the couch and I get up, they wake up jump down and follow. If I pick up one the other MUST be picked up also. If I hug or kiss my boyfriend they are all over us jumping on our legs... they do not tolerate me giving affection to others! Yet I find all this oddly sweet and endearing! Actually if one is not at my feet and I call and he does not come, I panic inside for a brief moment. :) sad huh? |

Yep, I gotta agree with most of the posts here;) Winston is my shadow too!! Every trip up from the bed at night, he never misses, room to room with me, sleeps right with me every night.....he is my attached shadow!!! I love it though!! |

If Baxter is not by my side I know that he has gone to poop in the house and I better go look for him. The other night I didn't know where he was for about a minute and my husband said the more amazing thing was that Bax didn't know where I was. |
Mine is going to be 2 in June :) Wherever I go, he goes. He won't eat if I am not right next to the bowl. I don't think they will ever grow out from it. |

Meeko is 6 months and has to have me in his sight at all times. If he close the bathroom door before he can get in, he'll scratch the door the whole time. I'm hoping he'll grow out of it too. |
From the looks of the other comments, yorkies don't seem to grow out of it! |
Tippy is 2 years old and ALWAYS follows me---except when some one is eating something, then thats a different story :D |
Hot Rod is the same way, whereever I go he goes. If I don't let him in the bathroom, he scratches at the door. The only time he's not following me is when I go upstairs, he doesn't do stairs. |
