Thank you everyone for your support. I was really torn this morning as to what to do. I have looked at and for a yorkie for over two years, so it was hard at first to let go of the images that I had built up for my little girl. I had to decide what I wanted more, a Yorkie or the puppy that has already become a member of the family and she's not even here with us yet. In the end it's not Wednesday who wins, but us. This is the dog that we are meant to have for whatever reason and that's it. The breeder is writing to everyone to let them know about their Dorkies. The way her email sounded we were the first ones that she told. I think it has to do with the fact that when we went to see Wennie we stayed at their house for almost 3 hours, chit chatting and playing with the puppies. I feel for her situation because it can't be easy. I'm just glad that I lucked out with her and not someone who would have been dishonest. |
What a darling! Congrats on your new puppy! |
Your story made me laugh! What a fun turn of events. She is absolutely adorable and I am sure she is just a sweetheart. I love mini daschunds! The dorkie is a very cute mix. Congrats on your new puppy! |
AWEEEEEEEEEEEEE, she's ADORABLE!!! Who cares if she's not 100% Yorkie, you love her and that's all that counts:D Maggy May isn't 100% yorkie either and everyone here excepts her totally 100% I love her markings, she's so CUTE!! |

She is so precious. That a face that any Mom could love! Congratulations!:) |
Oh shes soo adorable!! I laughed after I read your post tho. I was waiting for a funny story about your pup being clumsy or dorky lol |
Well I found out wonderful news for the puppies from the breeder. All of us have decided to keep the puppies, even the woman flying up from Florida. I don't know if anyone knows how to do the conversion but at 6 weeks she is 2lb 4oz. I wonder if that's going to make her a lovely little teapot in adult hood. |
I am so glad everyone is still going to get their pup and not reject them just because they aren't full blooded. But I really think we need a different name for such a cute little girl other than Dorkie maybe Yorkhund or Daschie. I am afraid that the poor babies will grow up with inferiority complex if we keep calling them Dorkies!!!!! She is so cute and I know that no matter what her line is she is still going to give the most wonderful puppy kisses and love. Congratulations. |
She is so super cute! I love those ears! Oh my gosh how could you not love her? I have always liked dachshunds but I can't have one due to allergies, so I'm jealous!! Too cute! |
She's absolutely adorable! I can't wait to see her as she gets older :) I'll bet she'll be a looker. I'm so happy to hear that everyone is taking their puppy. It was just meant to be! |
Dorkie, Wednesday, Wennie........ she's got so many cute names, I don't know how you couldn't bring her home. So glad to have her as part of your family AND our family. ;) |
