Oh my gosh! I am so glad you are both okay! I can't believe that on top of the stress of taking little Sugar in - you both had to go through this on the way, my gosh. I'm ashamed to say that I DON'T use my carseat - I "hold" Marcel with one hand (bc he loves to be held) and drive with the other - how terrible is that? |
Carseats and Crates I'm so glad that you and your little one were not hurt in the car accident. I've always worried about car seats and use dog crates instead. My husband uses a dog seat for his Shih tzu. It's good to know that the dog seat worked! Karen: |
Wow how scary! I am glad you are both okay. This is a good reminder to me to get car seats. I dont take my two in the car often thats why I havent gotten them but I think I need to Thank for sharing your story and the warning |

Oh Nikki, how scary for you and Sugar. I'm pleased you are both ok. These things happen so fast, don't they. My two travel in their travel crates, strapped in by the seat belts on the back seat. On the way home from a recent trip we hit a "donga" in the road and Coffee's crate turned upside down, but was still strapped in thank goodness. Please everyone, starp your kiddos in somehow, doesn't matter how. They are precious. Sheilagh |

How scary and I am glad you are both alright ! I am going to take a look at the carseats too for the MH as we travel with the boys strapped into a kennel on the seats and these may be a better idea ! ( The kennels are strapped down with a seatbelt and don't move though ) |
wow omg i would be soo scared! I'm so glad he's okay. It's so important to have a carseat, since they are so light anything will make them go flying. It's so dangerous, im so glad he's okay! |

So glad you are both OK. I have mine in a carrier in the car but I am going to start fastening the seat belt around it now. |

I have always hooked the tether in the car seat to the shoulder harness part of the seat belt. But this is making me think that I should hook it around the lap belt part of the seat belt. The lap belt holds the car seat in and it is already taunt, so it wouldn't move any more in an accident. The shoulder harness would still have to engage in an accident before it would stop my guys from flying. Good post. Glad for this insight and information. Glad your sugar is okay too. |

Glad to hear your okay that the you baby didn't get hurt. It is a grim reminder that car seats and seat belts really do save lives! BTW where did you get that car seat b/c the one I use for bella is getting too small and I just love yours! |
So happy that you are both o.k. That must have been scary to say the least. I always put Tricksie in her seat unless someone is riding and holds her. |

Spike is 4 1/2 and is comfortable in it too (not together) but probably any bigger wouldn't be comfortable. How scary! I'm glad you and Sugar are o.k and that it wasn't anything too big. Lately I haven't been using Rocky's carseat because Bella threw up in it and I took it out, so he's been sitting on my lap (my fiance's driving). This thread is motivating me to not mess around though, he needs his carseat! Bella just stays in her carrier in the car. |
