Beiwer vs Parti Color/Piebold Yorkie Which would you chose and why? Please help me make up my mind. I just found out that a little male that I have trying to sell (Reggie) has the gene for Parti-Color or PieBold. Should I keep him and buy a Parti-female to breed him? Should I sell him and buy a male and female Beiwer. I keep going back and forth and could use some suggestions. My hubby is afraid of option c buy male and female Beiwer and a Parti-Color. Please give me your suggestions. |
I have no idea, but I am sure that someone else can tell you. Good luck! |
whats piebold gene ??? i think partis and biewers are very pretty ! |
The piebold and the Parti are the same just a different term for the same thing. |
ahh ic lol |
I know the Parti-colors and Beiwers are different but what are the differences? This is a great post and I hope someone out there can help answer your questions. |
I don't really know much about Biewers, But if your boy has the gene, then why not keep him and get yourself a female. It would be cheaper. Now did you have him tested for the gene? What did that cost? Are you planning on breeding Biewers? |
this is where whisper can answer most of the parti/biewer questions to check if your yorkie is a gene carrier is not by tests, simply turn him/her over...if they have a spotted belly called "ticking" he/she is a gene carrier (I recently learned the ticking term myself:) |
If your pup has the gene I will say to keep him. How do you know your pup has the gene? I dont know anything about Beiwer and Particolors, Just that they are beautiful. I guess the people that breed them are more knowledgeable to answer your question. I will love to see a pic of your pup. |
I think that Reggie is adorable I saw him on a different post so personally I would keep him and add a female to compliment him and go in that direction for now. You can always add the Biewers later on. |

Here, they are now breeding for the Tri-color yorkie but it cannot be called a Biewer because it does not have the Biewer lineage. I think this is correct. Eventually, the two will probably merge and become the same but it may take a long time as things seem to change very slowly in the show dog world. I may be all wrong too. |

The Parti-color and the Biewer are both based on the piebald recessive gene. This is from the biewer breed description. Ok Rose, Rini explain this please, is the biewer based on the same piebald gene or is it a cross between another breed (like a ****-zu or maltese) "On January 20,1984 Gertrud and Werner Biewer bred the pair of Blue and Gold Yorkshire Terrier that produced a new breed variation of Yorkie." and this "The Biewer Yorkie originated in Germany in 1984 and was a piebald genetic recessive gene occurance offspring produced by Gertrud and Werner Biewer's Yorkshire Terriers. " |
I'll throw my two cents in for what it's worth. It's my understanding that the Biewers have a set pattern. The piebalds and partis are just the colors random. Hope I have that right. Sylvia |
You know already the wonderful qualities that Reggie has. I would keep him for sure. That would also save you the headache of searching for 2 new ones versus just one. |
