Bell has that cotton coat and I hate the fact that she always has matts. It is really terrible now that she has her puppies.. What shampoo and conditioner do you guys use on your cotton coated fur babies??

Pat, what about this one? Lady is soon to be 18 months old. One day recently I took her picture and her eyes were red/gold, the next day she got into a picture I was taking and her eyes were green. Her coat is cool to the touch where it hangs away from her body but she has a curly butt. She tends to matt a little but she doesn't have a heavy coat unless you count the weight as her hair almost reaches the floor. Sylvia

Bentley definitely has the cotton coat, Griffin's remains to be seen. Bentley's mats easily and if it grows too long he starts to look chubby because it poofs out quite a bit.

Chris Christensen Systems PLUS Ice on Ice spray on - I swear by it for Chanel - Her hair does the same poofy thing that Bentlysmom just mentioned - she will start to look chubby if her coat is not thinned out and sprayed with the Ice.......she's actually got a great little yorkie shape to her but will look like a little hedgehog with all her hair if I don't use a good shampoo & conditioner.

These are 2 of the products I like....

I really need to see them in person...there are shades of green and reds also. Some eyes are yellowish green, that is usually silk, but yellowish amber is not.
I go by the flashlight in the dark room more then anything. I have never seen an adults change color..what it is, is what it is..LOL

You can't go wrong with CC products. Rudy is a cotton coat and I have been using it for over a year and it works great on him. Maddie has a silky coat and I use Tropiclean on her, if I use the CC products she look greasy in a few days. I bought a lot of shampoo before I found what was right for my two, now I have to see how Polly's coat turns out, I think she is going to be silky, I am going to do what Pat said and do the flashlight test. It worked for my other two.

I had the same problem with Mia when she was around that age..even started to question her coat type. Finally decide to have her puppy coat cut off to minimize tangles. Life was so much easier. Her hair grew fast and she had the beatiful silky coat I had hoped for.

I cant buy into the concept of the green/amber/red and here is a good reason why...

Mercedes (pictured) which has a wonder full silk coat no doubt about it and look at these eyes lol she looks either evil or retarded...one yellow and one red I have yet to get a green shot of her!

That does look strange lol. great pics though ! I am afraid Rosi has a cotton coat, allways matts close to her skin and looks like she is having a bad hair day even though she gets brushed every day to her dismay !

Maximus is almost 6 months and his eyes have gotten greener from a slight bluish green when he was younger...he almost never matts although I do brush him everyday BUT he looks like a mess about 10 minutes after I am done :( ....his hair is going everywhere and in all different directions...what do you guys think ?.....just puppy coat woes..lol??
