Selective breeding has given us beautiful animals that are of the size and temperment to fit our individual tastes and lifestyles. It should always be done with the animals welfare in mind working to create a healthy, happy breed. I disagree that animals would be better off without selective breeding, nature would and in the wild does cause selective breeding by survival of the fittest. It is a harsh cruel world out there and pets bring beauty and love into it. | I guess this is the part that I disagree with the most. I don't think your post is inaccurate. I just think that we (humans) feel that this planet and everything on it and in it are ours to do what we want to and if it benefits us, it's good. I just ultimately think that we may need to take another look at this train of thought.
By the way, I realize that I may be in the minority here on a yorkie forum, but oh well. |
