Most of the reasons stated are exactly why I admire those who are good breeders. There's just so much to it, I'd never know where to begin. I will say I learn something new here every day.

I hope the original poster does find their perfect puppy. Just remember to take your time, it'll be well worth it in the end. Oh my, they are addicting too. Just like potato chips, it's hard to stop at one :D

Personally, I think *all* yorkies are stunningly adorable - but the look that kills me - is the one similar to Marcel (in my avatar). I don't "name" that -look I don't know, maybe he has a shorter snout, he is on the smaller size - I don't know what it is really. I just saw him, and we fell in love :). It was the same with Wylie too though, and he has a totally different look.

I guess my main point would be: look around at a lot of breeders - see what different breeders *say* about their pups - how they *market* their pups (and, more importantly, how don't they market their pups). And, know what questions you should ask a breeder before seeing a pup and before buying a pup. And, know the breed and learn about owning a puppy, above everything else.

Roxi has a very short snout and is small (2.8) but I have to say I have never heard the term "doll face" or "babydoll". We just fell in love, but she was never pitched to us using these terms, or did we even really discuss size!! I didn't mind how much she was going to weigh, just so happened that she is quite small!! guess you learn something new everyday!

I knew of a breeder who, at the very bottom of the last page of her website, put in every Christian word she could think of, and many "patriotic" words, and all the words for Yorkies also. I'm not kidding! Just the words in tiny, tiny print. You could hardly read them at all, and we all know how people don't like to read the fine print. She did it so that any searches that would include any of those words would catch her webite too. Whatever!

I agree, the YTCA should be the place to check. As someone said, just because they're recommended doesn't mean their reputable. Don't limit yourself to YT because of a false trustworthiness. Take your time....I suggest not buying or selling in a forum setting.

thank you. yes she is my breeding but I let her get away. Big, big mistake. The litter I have now come from a mother with that same face. personally, that is the look I am crazy about.

five pounds is a good size for a healthy puppy.
but i have seen tiny teacups at 4 months.. it was sad.. i would be afraid to own one becauise of the danger of stepping on them..

Hi and welcome to YT. This is a great place to start looking for a new yorkie. In fact, there were some puppies born in Arizona just yesterday. Check the nursery to see all the new babies that may be available. Good luck.

I like the babydoll faced yorkie also. I was lucky to enough to find exactly what I was looking for at Elite Petite Yorkies and I am so very happy with him. Elite is out in California but I've seen some really cute babydoll faces here on YT. Maybe someone else here can steer you to someone closer to your area.

I'm going to say this again... there is a difference between a short-muzzled yorkie and a yorkie with a "babydoll face". A true babydoll face has a very short muzzle, an APPLE-domed head, and round eyes. It's not the short muzzle I have a problem with...I actually prefer shorter muzzles myself. But I have a HUGE problem with breeding apple-headed yorkies :thumbdown

Ihave a "babyfaced 'yorkie from COURTASH YORKIES and she has a sweetbaby face.....NO applehead!:) :)

I give up :rolleyes: Everyone should check out Oprah's show tomorrow! I hope she helps to educate the public on why it's important to only buy from reputable breeders or adopt from shelters.
