I have heard from ppl that are in rescue, that it takes at least 2 weeks or more for the new one to be comfortable and such. I hope your hubby gives him a chance. BTW - I didn't tell my hubby about the marking either at first, but then I had to say, 'just to make sure.....I am going to be putting this belly band on' - hehehehehehe Madison sure is really cute - I always believe that 'everyone' (including animals) should have a friend :p - so I hope it works out for you all. ;) |
I would do whatever you need to do to make sure he is current on shots and wormings because it would be a danger to Max otherwise. I would wait waaaaaaaaaaay longer than even two weeks to neuter personally. If Ellie got loose and someone found her, even if they were trying to find me, if they had her spayed, I would be VERY unhappy if I didn't want it done. I would wait months, not weeks UNLESS you really want to keep him. Then you can go by the shelter rules in your area and after a week or whatever, he is yours. If you consider him yours (and the laws around there say you don't have to return him after a certain amount of time) then do it but if you still really want to find the owners, I would definately wait. |

Thank you so much! I am so grateful for your help....it makes me cry that everyone cares about a little dog they don't even know, to help me out. Now, I just need to find a belly band! I wonder if that's what Madison is doing sometimes too....he rolls around on the carpet ....interesting! I'm not sure how old Madison is; I think he's probably close to Max's age, just looking at his teeth (like I'd Know, LOL). How do you let a dog go when you love it so much? I think that's one of my big problems, LOL. Maybe I'd better call my sister fast, LOL;) . |

I just wanted to tell you thank you for having such a kind heart in not only trying to find his family but giving him a home in the mean time. Well perhaps a permanent home it looks like. I hope he gets a clean bill of health and can stay with you. He's certainly is adorable and looks all Yorkie. I can't imagine someone just dumping him. How could anyone be that cruel? I only have one male so I can't help in the marking problem but belly bands do sound like a blessing for those who need them. Good luck, |
vet care and ears Its good that Max is so understanding....you both would make a great foster team! You care for the newbie and Max teached the newbie good Yorkie behaviors. It's good to have a spare crate if you are fostering. Here's why. You can keep the newbie separate from your dogs because you don't know the shots the newbie has had or the diseases the newbie may be carrying. A vet will know which shot to give as most shots depend on age. About the neutering..you might want to wait on that, depending on Madison's age and Health, the vet will know what's best. About Madison's ears, to be honest, I don't know about ear color. I have seen those differences many times but I will try to find out. I think he is a purebred though, he is such a cutie. To be safe in any future ads I would say Yorkie/Silky Terrier as that will cover all the bases. Does he recognize Madison as his new name yet? How is he at learning new words? |

The kiddos are doing well. I am actually trying to figure out when to take them back for the BAT and I might be a little worried about Roxy. She still scratching her arm pits and now her ear, and I think she has either pulled out hair on her ear or it is falling out :( - Never ending.... How's Ellie? |

Ellie is okay for the most part. She started peeing on the couch again a couple weeks ago (has since stopped again). She has also been very shaky lately but I don't know if it the her new haircut or what. I'm not convinced... I don't think it is her liver either though since that seems to be doing pretty well... |
I can't believe someone isn't looking for him! He's such a cutie! I hope you get to keep him, he seems like he'll be a good fit for your family. And your DH will come around. When I wanted to get our 2nd yorkie and 3rd dog overall he was REALLY hesitant but now he wouldn't have it any other way! Good luck with everything! |

As far as giving him back. He was certainly cute and I would have done anything to protect him, but he was also a bitter (very bad) - he had been passed around about 4 times in his 7 yrs. (also very mistreated along the way). But his LAST owner was the one that gave him the BEST chance, taught him things, made him trust and love. I only fostered him for 2 wks until he could be returned to his last owner and they are a PERFECT MATCH. |
your a doll , and there should be more people in the world like you.. god bless you for everything you are doing for that puppy.. |
