PuppyMills By States |
Great link!!....thanks for posting this info. I read somewhere (i think here on YT) that the USDA at one time encouraged farmers to breed dogs for income. Kind of ironic to see the link tabbed 'USDA investigation reports' when you click on it. |
This is a great site, but I have to say that I sat here and cried when viewing the videos. I cannot imagine how anyone could do this to these poor babies. It breaks my heart ..... |
I couldn't even view the videos.. I agree, How could anyone be so heartless. Thanks for the link. |
It is a GREAT link, Just have to keep educating people on puppy mills!!!:animal-pa |
It's funny they didn't have any in SC on there..I know we have some |
Thanks for the link. I have saved in favorites and will pass on to friends & family. I am shocked that so many people have no idea about what goes on with animals. So Sad! |
Things like this just make me sick! I think it would only be fair to let the owners sleep in small cages and walk on poop and urine 24/7. |
One that I do not think was mentioned was John Graber in Odona Indiana. He is an Amish Puppymiller out of Indiana. I think it's worth mentioning because the video posted was so horrific. I've enclosed the link but it's for those really with a strong stomach. A little s**tzu lost it's leg after a Pit Bull in the cell next to her ate off her leg when it dangled over. I'm really not trying to upset anyone by posting these links etc. but in order to fight these mills we cannot hide our heads. THINGS LIKE THIS NEED TO BE KNOWN. This is really the only way to fight them. Even if it keeps just one person from buying from places like this. Elaine |
Great thread! Thanks so much for posting it! |
Well the world know's John Graber now!! The Amish are notorious for puppy mills. It sickens me down to my soul. The anger I feel towards these people cannot be stated here. Educate, Educate, Educate and get the word out there. The suffering these animals have to endure. What goes around comes around, that's a given.:animal-pa |

I have been to places like these and will never get their memory out of my heart or mind. I tried so hard to save them but I could not. I went the the Humane Society, Police and to the news media but what was being done to these innocent animals was not illegal. Our own government the U.S.D.A. has encouraged this type of industry to help people in rural areas make a living. I am sorry to get so emotional about this but I am just horrified that people will do anything for monetary gain. For the faint at heart do not search any further but if you have the guts and want to do something for their honor then continue reading...then act! www.prisonersofgreed.org Yorkies are my passion but I know inside every dog big or small..free or imprisoned is a precious little spirit put here for us to love and protect. We all have a responsiblity to do our part. If you are going to buy a Yorkie that is wonderful but make sure you do not purchase a sweet baby whose Mother will live her life in a 3X3 cage for the rest of her life without hugs and kisses and a warm bed on a cold winters night or a reassuring hug that everything will be alright. For these babies they will never know love only pain and misery. :( I am so sorry if I have offended any of you but I just could not let this opportunity pass. |
Pet Stores Hall Of Shame.... |
That video was so sad. It is so sickening how these people act. The poor shih tzu had her leg eaten off and he didnt seek any medical attention for her. They asked if they ever get out and walk and he says NO. What kind of person is that, just sick and greedy! |
I used to purchase items (blankets etc) from the Amish but after seeing the way they treat animals at the farmers market. I have boycotted buying anything from them ever again. This is from an exhibit that was put together in July of 2007 to raise awareness of Puppy Mills in Pennsylvania. http://www.puppiesarebiodegradable.com/index.html |
One day-these sick o's will meet their maker To hell they will got to burn. "DOG SPELLED BACKWARDS IS GOD" The will pay someday... I just wish sooner. |
As long as I live, I will NEVER understand how people can treat animals this way. How do you treat defenseless animals with such cruelty, they have no soul! It breaks my heart! |

What gets me is that the Amish CLAIM to be Christians. NEWSFLASH!!! A CHRISTIAN would NOT do this to an animal. |
OMG OMG OMG OMG I've never seen anything so heartbreaking seriously. That was disgusting and I only pray these babies were given to loving caring and healthy families.......... that just broke my heart, good information. I hope word continues to get out. |

You have expressed yourself very well and I totally agree with you. I tend to get angry with this subject. Two and half years ago we adopted our little baby that was a mill dog, he's a yorkie and their my passion as well. Not everyday anymore, but sometimes he must have flash backs or something triggers memory and he still has mental anguish over how he had to try to survive. As long as I live I will never understand human beings and their torturing of animals just for the almighty dollar. I realize that for some seeing the puppies in the window and that need to "gotta have it now" is the decision many people make, but they need to think of the parents of these puppies before they buy. Not to mention all the health risks. We will adopt ex mill dogs again, because the rewards are astonishing. To finally get the kiss on the nose or to play with a toy for the first time. People need to be educated on this subject. My intent isn't to offend anyone either but to educate them on the horrors.:animal-pa |

There were times back in the early days that I thought about sending him down the road, but I knew where he would up back at the meat packers. I just couldn't live with myself knowing that. |
I have said this a thousand times..WE can make a difference but we have to get the laws changed so this is not legal. Everyone can write to their congressman or senator. People can financially support organizations that are fully geared to this type of abuse, such as: http://www.prisonersofgreed.org/ http://www.puppymillrescue.com/ http://www.caps-web.org/investigations.php We have to continue to educate people on petshops and the Hunt Corporation. We can make a difference if we continue to demand from our politicians changes in the laws. |
of course oklahoma is on that list.. but i know we have WAY more than it has on there! |
