| Why are people so stupid??? i just found out they my brother doesn't take his dog to get any of his shots. his dog is a lab. my sil told me today, i told her "well, don't expect me to take lily may over to your house because she can't be around dogs that don't have shots. my mom and my other brother take their dogs over there, their dogs are taken to vet and have all shots. my question is..is it safe for lily may to be around the other dogs even though they are around bear who doesn't get shots??? gloria |

| That is a problem. Maybe you can ask your vet. Guess I would trust my vet with that one. Not very responsible is he?!!!!!!

| Personally, I would not let either of my girls around other dogs who have not been vaccinated.

| Since my dogs are vaccinated, it doesn't hurt them to be around dogs that haven't been I don't think..The main thing is you have your dogs shots. |

| No vaccine is 100% effective, so she could still potentially get a disease if she was around a dog who had it even if she was vaccinated for it. For me, it would depend on what and when the dog was vaccinated. If a dog had none at all, I probably wouldn't let Ellie hang around. If they had puppy shots and one year booster, I personally wouldn't be too concerned. Then again, whatever I felt like doing at the time is what I'd do. One of the reasons I won't Ellie go to dog parks is because you really don't know what diseases those dogs are carrying, so I am somewhat cautious.

| That is so irresponsible of your brother!! I wouldn't let Milo hang around any non-vaccinated dog. |

| If it were me, I'd have a long sit down with my brother and if he still remained stubborn, I'd take his lab into the vet for his shots. The poor dog shouldn't suffer because of the owner and at least this is one dog you can help with since he's "family". :^)

| I don't take my yorkie to my daughter's house because of that reason. She gets them their shots now but in the past there has been heart worm, which cost a fortune to get rid of and the dog still is not right. She lives in the country and is plagued with deer lice. Right now she is fighting wire worm.(maybe that's hook worm) Whatever worm it is , Iam not having it at my place. So my pup stays away. So do I because I don't want to bring it home. |
